These ESMs in the right order? I sometimes crash when loading any kind of save, which is 1 reason I ask. Very rare to get a crash in the actual game, though.

Crashing when loading a save is actually quite common and can be caused by the computer not being able to handle loading all of the scripts up at one time when a save is loaded. You could try loading the game and wait till the menu select pops up. Hit ~ type in COC qasmoke to warp to the games testinghall then from there load your save. There is another way to do it as well somewhere but I forget the link.

Yep. A little too common. I'm mostly just wondering if I have these ESMs in the right order though, so I know whether to blame myself for the load order, or the game...being Skyrim. :P

And wait...you can warp somewhere before you load your save?? How did I not know this?! And how dafuq is that even possible?

I always place SOS.esmand Zaz.esm after Sexlab and ArosedRedux esm's because I had CTDs if SOS was above them.

Well, I don't get CTDs during sex (anymore), just for loading saves. Funny thing is, I get CTDs a lot more from loading a save during the game than I do from loading originally, when I first start playing. It used to be the other way around. I don't know how to explain that.

Anyway I moved those 2 to load after SL and Aroused, so we'll see what happens. Hopefully the other stuff's in order.

Once your game is loaded and you see the menu you can use console to warp you can also turn on god mode from the menu as well as some other ones you can even bring up and search for items and armors though they will not be added to if you try to add them to your inventory. You can also bring up the console on other beth games as well at the menu.

So I can COC before I even load my game, and I will start in that area? But it doesn't work for inventory items? Hmmm...weird. Can I choose player.moveto and start right next to someone as well? I'm surprised to learn console has any affect at all on a game with no loaded save game actively being played...

It doesn't need a save as the testinghall isn't just in the save it's in the game itself and if you can open the console then you can use it. COCing to the testinghall from the menu will give you a generic male but that really doesn't matter since you won't be there long.

You wouldn't want to COC to a place and try to start from there as nothing would be working right since you wouldn't have any of the main quests activated like Helena so none of the main quests would work and you wouldn't get any of them.

From the menu you can console add items but where are you going to store those inventory items at if you don't even have a inventory to store them in yet?

Not sure if moveto would work or not it might for actual in game NPC's but custom followers probably wouldn't work as those load after you start the game and are not in the actual game files.

Ah, I see now. Loading from testinghall is just a safer way to load. Kinda like how loading from an active save is more reliable than loading from the title. Or at least, it used to be. Like I said, loading from the title seems to be more reliable than loading from in the game at the moment. This is something I never thought I'd experience. :-/

Skyrim's just too unpredictable and confusing. :P

The more scripted mods you have installed the more it happens when you load a save it's loading everything up at one time scripts HD stuff ENB high graphic textures and lots of other things and at times the computer can't handle all that at one time so it crashes it happens a lot more if the person is using a older computer. I use to have it happen to me a lot but now I don't even bother loading it normal and just load it the way I'm use to.

Still weird. I'm using way less mods than I used to, and I cleaned out (deleted) my data folder, which had some mod files in it, but then this started happening. Also, I have way more room on my comp, now that I have Steam and all it's games on an external harddrive. Regardless, if moving those 2 ESMs didn't help it, I'll just start loading from the testinghall. Fuggit.

Now to start a thread about my other problem. (never ends)

Some times my game crashes when loading a save as well. What myuhinny mean't was that as soon as your game loads up you open console. As an alternative I sometimes find the game will load if I restart my pc. If I start a new game then load into the save that is crashing it will also be fine. Alternatively I load into a "safe" save then load into the save that is making me crash. What constitutes a safe save? I don't know. For me it's either the starting room of Live another Life, or when my character was in Darkfall passage.

Me too! That's just what I thought, but loading a brand new save and then loading my recent save doesn't seem to be yielding the same results anymore. Even the new save from the room with the Statue of Mara will crash a lot now. But even if I'm in the middle of a situation where a crapton of scripts are running, like right in the middle of enslavement or even being in Sanguine's Dreamworld or From the Deeps' Insmouth will load just fine, assuming I'm loading from the title. But loading from a scriptless as hell situation like being in Breezehome or High Hrothgar will strait up crash if loading from in-game. :-/

zaz is safe to load before / after sexlab since it has not sexlab as a master but mostly just put it before sexlab because some mods created with zaz has it this way, but loot will always place it lower then sexlab not sure why that is also creatureframework needs to be lower then sexlab because of mods dependency.

Your esm list looked correctly too me, but if you want to fix this crash on load have you tried to switch to the new enb boost crash fix ?? with that installed i have never seen a single crash on load any more.

I don't have that. I never used an ENB, so the thought to get that never crossed my mind. I would have looked at it for 1 second and thought "well, this doesn't apply to me since I don't use ENB". Guess I should use it anyway?

For the CTD when loading a save, there are two methods I use.

First, you'll need a mod which contains a small room with minimal objects. Then create a save in that room. From then on, just load that save, then load your regular save without returning to the main menu.

The other method is a mod then you can create such a room anywhere on the map.

I currently use this one - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/62710/?

But I'm keep looking for a less elaborate one.

yes even if your not using enb, enb boost crash fix is there to make skyrim more stable.

i have not experienced any of the crashes i previously had.

The room with the Mara Statue has almost nothing in it, but I guess it is part of a whole cave, so I guess I could just make a tiny little room with absolutely nothing in it. Thing is, I can load from the title screen to even the most elaborate places, with scripts running, and NPCs everywhere, in a busy place. Basically, I just gotta make sure I don't die. The game auto-loads just fine, but I've learned not to trust the game's auto-load, so I always try loading again, which is when I get the crash. This game is silly.

Hmm...

The author of this file has indicated that it requires one or more other files in order to work properly.

The files needed in order for this file to work are as follows:

If you do not download and install these files as per the author's instructions
then it's extremely likely that it will not work for you and that'll be no one's fault but your own.

Looks like he's saying it needs the same ENB I used for Dragon's Dogma. Odd that I already have it, considering I generally don't use ENBs. :P

This is just an ini file. Why would Skyrim read this? Looks like the ENB would be what reads it...

Should I copy it's contents to my Skyrim.ini in its own section or something?

That's correct, you need to have ENB installed for ENBoost to work.

The files you get from here are the ENB. Mods like RealVision, Seasons of Skyrim, etc, are not ENBs, but ENB configuration files. These files set parameters in the ENB to change the way Skyrim looks, and they also fix crashing issues related to memory management. ENBoost is also an ENB config, but one that only fixes the crashes and doesn't make any graphical changes.

Thus, what D_ManXX2 meant is that you don't need to install an ENB preset that changes the look of your game, since you can use ENBoost instead, but you still need the base ENB files regardless.

Well, I got ENB and ENBoost installed manually to the Skyrim folder (since I don't see a way to install such a thing to MO), and it's being read and such. So far, no matter how many times I load from in the game or the title screen, no crashes. :) Guess it was a memory thing. Was never a problem with 4 times more mods active, so I can't imagine why I would need such a fix now, but fuggit, if it works, it works. :sleepy:  Thanks fellas!

Edited the title to mention my crashes, and to tell people it has been solved.
