ChancellorKremlin Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Yeah, the California/Mojave BoS are not the same as the Mid Western or Eastern BoS. Did Bethesda/Obsidian even bother to make the Mid Western BoS cannon?
Guest Loogie Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 According to Bethesda, the plot arc and factions are official, but things like talking furry deathclaws aren't. According to Interplay before that, the canon ending is the one where the Warrior destroys the Calculator. Anyone else think its funny Fallout Tactics gives you more game changing decisions and more endings than Fallout 3 despite the fact tactics contains not a single dialog tree?
ChancellorKremlin Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Yeah, as a game, I really really like FoT. It's strategic and tactical, and reminds me a lot of X-Com. I like how you start with recruiting tribes, and then gradually better and better recruits, expand your zone of influence, build more bases, come across more and more dangerous enemies. It all made sense to me. I also very much liked the storyline, I thought it was well thought out (unlike FO3, as you have pointed out) If it's cannon, then the Mid Western BoS in my game should be the most powerful faction alive in the US right now. I think I replaced the calculator with one of the generals, gave the BoS the factory, along with a whole lot of other stuff. I just remember them being so much more powerful than I had left them. I need to play that game again...
Guest Loogie Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Judging from Rothchild saying they haven't heard from the midwest BoS in awhile and his statement they are a shadow of what they once were, how Enclave armor looks in Fallout 3, and the fact ED-E stopped at an Enclave base in Chicago, I'm guessing the Enclave tore them a new one.
Nefim Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 My bad, the wording is horrid, I read it twice. Apparently they forget to mention that it was not the Mid-western BoS but the original faction ...Bleh, That's what I get for pulling late nights.... Either way they could still be in the desert if a good enough story gives them reason to be!! Maybe the next fallout ( and rumored to be the last ) will clear up the BoS story arc. Any way, sorry for wasting all of your guys' time. Later Days Nefim
Guest Loogie Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Why would the next Fallout be the last? Its a cash cow Bethesda can mangle rape for years, like Elder Scrolls. Also, it's not a waste of time. I like going full dork over Fallout.
ChancellorKremlin Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I'm going to do a FO1/FO2/FOT replay one of these days. Want to compare notes?
Nefim Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Well rumors said it might be the last because of all the court trouble over the IP. I did say it was a rumor right? lol Honestly I love the fall out series, I just never had the time to read all the "canon" information. Fallout 3 is what brought me in, got it as a present. I couldn't get in to fallout 1 or 2 due to the fact of limited time, though what I did play I liked. By the time I did get the time to play them ... Skyrim and New Vegas modding lol... so any note comparing would be between you and well...Loogie! Though I would love to sit in the room and listen
Guest Loogie Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I'm going to do a FO1/FO2/FOT replay one of these days. Want to compare notes? I'd love to. Well rumors said it might be the last because of all the court trouble over the IP. I did say it was a rumor right? lol Honestly I love the fall out series' date=' I just never had the time to read all the "canon" information.[/quote'] That court battle is old news. Basically, Bethesda gave Interplay the rights to make a Fallout MMO... then took them into court claiming they only gave Interplay the right to use the title "Fallout" and none of Fallout's intellectual property, like Nuka-Cola or Supermutants. Yet the contract specifically states the game would have to be approved by Bethesda's QA as something worthy of a Fallout brand. Interplay's lawyer then proceeded to absolutely dominate the proceedings, and they were on the verge of getting the entire contract voided which would have reverted rights to Interplay. Then Bethesda suddenly settles the whole suit for $5m to Interplay, which Herve Caen took and ran off. The original acquisition deal was Bethesda could make three Fallout games; their revised deal they got shortly after gave them rights to the whole franchise. And now that they've secured the rights to the Fallout MMO, they now control the entire thing. Fallout 3 is what brought me in, got it as a present. I couldn't get in to fallout 1 or 2 due to the fact of limited time, though what I did play I liked. By the time I did get the time to play them ... Skyrim and New Vegas modding lol... New Vegas is a Fallout game through and through. Fallout 3... it's like buying something with a Cadillac emblem and finding out you actually bought a Honda Civic. While a Honda Civic is capable of movement, it's no goddamn Cadillac.
Menesh Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 FO3 is a Bethesda game. You put a different team on the same story, you get a different feel. I actually feared the game would be much worse when I saw how Bethsoft watered up Oblivion in comparison to Morrowind. I guess being positively surprised makes one overlook some flaws. Although I always hated that "I miss my daddy" nonsense. I always wanted to tell daddy that his idea of safety was a piece of crap, leaving me behind with a psychotic dictator, his sadistic chainhound and a lot of guards that tried to kill me on sight. I didn't leave that vault to find daddy, I left because in the wasteland my chances to survive the day were a lot higher. New Vegas is more true to FO2 as there are the same people behind it, and that's actually quite refreshing. However don't forget that there were many who thought that FO2 wasn't a true Fallout game as it had too much sex, too many pop culture references and too much general weirdness. I never played FO1 so I can't compare here.
KainsChylde Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Anyone who said FO2 had too much sex, pop culture, and weirdness only read about FO1 and never played it. That's like saying anything Aliens related isn't a true Aliens tie in because there were too many aliens in it. As far as the new games go I'm with Loogie. New Vegas is the real Fallout 3, the other game should be Fallout DC. You know who I miss from fallout 2? The Hubologists. That was some funny gameplay right there.
osilentchaoso Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 how did this turn from an ideas thread into a fallout discussion?
sen4mi Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 how did this turn from an ideas thread into a fallout discussion? I imagine that that happened when someone posted it into the fallout forums here?
ChancellorKremlin Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I'd love to. I'll get started some time this week. I've forgotten about FO1' date=' for the most part... New Vegas is a Fallout game through and through. Fallout 3... it's like buying something with a Cadillac emblem and finding out you actually bought a Honda Civic. While a Honda Civic is capable of movement, it's no goddamn Cadillac. I agree. It's like Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, I just pretend like it never happened, both of them that is. New Vegas is more true to FO2 as there are the same people behind it' date=' and that's actually quite refreshing. However don't forget that there were many who thought that FO2 wasn't a true Fallout game as it had too much sex, too many pop culture references and too much general weirdness. I never played FO1 so I can't compare here. [/quote'] I started the Fallout series on FO2. It was an epic moment in my life. It was the first *ever* RPG I played, and I had the luck of starting with one of the best. I really liked the pop references, I then played FO1, and I can appreciate it when fans say it's better, because it's more dark, serious and has a more subtle humour. Personally, I think Obsidian nailed it on the head on FNV, with the 'Wild Wasteland' trait that allows players to experience both serious FO1 style and over the top/silly FO2 style, both aspects which I like. Anyone who said FO2 had too much sex' date=' pop culture, and weirdness only read about FO1 and never played it. [/quote'] You guys should seriously try the Fallout 2 Restoration Project, by killap. It's AMAZING. Find it on No Mutants Allowed, so much stuff put into the game that was meant to be in it, but didn't make it due to time constraints. EPA, Shi Submarine, Suliks Village, sister, Abbey, more sex, etc etc etc. I can't underline this enough. Go there, install it. Play it. how did this turn from an ideas thread into a fallout discussion? how did this turn from an ideas thread into a fallout discussion? I imagine that that happened when someone posted it into the fallout forums here? You would be surprised at how many ideas you could get from FO1/FO2/FOT you know. Discussing these topics I feel is a good way of jogging up some concepts we could use in FNV, admittedly not all sex related.
KainsChylde Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I run a 64 bit win 7 system. FO 1, 2, and tactics won't run for me. Otherwise I would love to revisit them.
zippy57 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I run a 64 bit win 7 system. FO 1' date=' 2, and tactics won't run for me. Otherwise I would love to revisit them. [/quote']Really? I have 64-bit Win7 and the only one I have trouble with is FO1. FO2 and Tactics work perfectly for me.
KainsChylde Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Redownloading them from GOG now. I'll give it another shot. I really want to replay, especially 2. Fave game EVAR!!!11!!!1!
Nefim Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I also knew all about the court case, rumor wasn't tied to it but connected to the way the economy is plus all this speculation on layoffs etc. More BS that I shoulda checked out but didn't due to my being up over 36 hours... Sleep deprived posting for the loss. Now that I look like an idiot ..... Anyway, Sorry for bringing up old news I have played a bit of fallout one ... the Controls are weird but the game itself is nice. Kinda shocked me on some of the stuff they got away with back in the day ....didn't it have a brothel? lol According to what I have been reading fallout 3 is the only game not to have any original developers work on it. ( I.E people who worked on 1 and 2 ) and although not quite canon or fallout material to some, it has shaped the future of fallout ..game wise. New Vegas plays a lot like it, but with better story. I do miss Galaxy news radio though lol. Mr. New Vegas just doesn't cut the mustard! if only we could get some radio stations like in Saints row ( but fallout flavored ) in to the game! ....anyone know any voice actors that work for free? lol I think sexout needs more Vault loaded scenarios. Kidnappers who use a vault ( or just recently came out of because they need supplies ). Hard to escape when the only exit is a big sealed door! Down side it wouldn't probably be very lore friendly... I think I will try and get a new copy of fallout 1 and 2 ..maybe visit no mutants allowed. Thanks for the advise!
osilentchaoso Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 You would be surprised at how many ideas you could get from FO1/FO2/FOT you know. Discussing these topics I feel is a good way of jogging up some concepts we could use in FNV, admittedly not all sex related. yeah,i guess you could get a fair few concepts, considering these concepts fit the way FNV plays, feels and looks
KainsChylde Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I think I will try and get a new copy of fallout 1 and 2 ..maybe visit no mutants allowed. Thanks for the advise! $6 each on GOG.com. F1, 2, and tactics also all come with a ton of goodies including copies of the Fallout Bible.
luinil Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 just an idea for sexout pregnancy but maybe also for the other plugins. book available at doctors and some vendors.books title something like contraception, fertility, and you.Or whatever.Give the book to a female companion and with MCM you could set various setting like for example... if companion is not in fertile part of cycle .......does not effect chances of having sex if companion is in fertile part of cycle uses contraception if she has any on her ...or demands you give her some before sex so she can use it. could set chance in mcm random chance she will forgo contraception if her hornyness levels are too high(sexout lust) or drunk or high offer a bj or ass instead of pussy
Azothiol Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Personally, I like the Idea of giving pregnancy a meaning while enslaved. Dermont and the Pouder Gangers could sell your offspring to the Legion, the Legion could keep it for themselves. (See above) If you become visibly pregnant while enslaved in the NCRF or Legion scenario, it could be set to NOT setting you free until you meet the conditions and are not pregnant anymore. (If your child get´s stolen from you, brainwashedperc goes up?)
lukaslunt Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I saw on the discution Sexoutpregnancy I think having a player selected by one faction or insect when she is pregnant would be very good. For example you legion is the speaker it locks you in a cage or it will await the neissance child. This requires that the gestation time is reduced (Go 20 to 25 days would be nice) The cell would have a bed to pass the time in addition to the legionnaire who you visit to kill you ass, and marissa you would from time to time out for divertire. For insects (flies, spiders, Mantes, ants, etc. ....) The enmenerez it you in a nest or you can not get out but the disign or will it be a embiance creepy. Rapelez you in fallout 3 quests with ants ç'est this kind of places that would be interesting. And once the eggs are laid you can run away discreetly. This system would also be nice for deathcleaw. For the rest a slave market would be great, to finally have the fear of being sold to a harder master. Sewerslave plugin for this would be a plus.
Blueberrymaiden Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Great mods, I have only just started trying them out but they are awesome so far. The many options and story makes it a lot more fun for getting the creative juices flowing. Just a few thoughts- -Situations similar to Sewer Slave, where you have a chance that you will be 'punished' in some way if the would-be-rescuer doesn't side with you (awesome idea, really adds to the atmosphere/story!). Being punished for trying to 'get clever' or escape just adds so much to the horror/despair aspect, with a sense of futility. For some, it makes the victim want to fight back that much harder, for others - it makes them resist less and possibly 'accept' things, just as your owners/captors keep urging you to do so... leading to depression and possibly even suicide. --Depression - may be something you have to watch out for if there is a mod where you can have slaves yourself, where they react to you at times. They might have a couple of 'events' that are triggered if you don't give them enough 'attention'? or you just leave them alone for too long and you start getting messages/warnings (starving, they 'miss' you, Stockholm Syndrome affects, etc.) ---Option to turn this off in the MCM, of course, if you don't feel like having to care for a 'virtual pet' so to speak... or leave them at a Casino or brothel as an option. (Best Little Whorehouse in Texas for the win!) Personally I like to play both sides (victim/abuser or bottom/top or etc...). What can I say, I like variety! I guess I like to indulge my dominant side as well as my submissive one. Can be fun to alternate. -Having a Mistress enslave you if you get caught by her (maybe something that would be more fun to create, and would be something for those 'weirdos' that make male characters... j/k ). Female chars tend to look better/more polished IMO. I like roleplaying as my own gender, anyways. But, if male PCs get more 'sexy' (or whatever) I may change that (more Arcade Gannon). I mean, referring to the 'ass you have to stare at the whole game' type of logic.
luinil Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 I came across this fun mod for lovers pk called lovers night arena and though maybe something similar could be done with the thorn. Anyway for a description of lovers night arena and some fun pics http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=5027
