[mod] [CK2] Werewolf and Anime Portraits for DW

This is an expansion and compatibility patch of sorts ive been working on. I've been basically making a mod of a mod for myself that I thought other people might be interested in. This will allow Seiji's anime portraits mod to work with Dark World's static portraits as well as expanding the amount of Werewolf portraits the mod uses. Unfortunately i've intertwined them so much that I haven't the will to go through the reverse engineering process so i'll leave that to someone else.

I chose the female werewolf portraits on the basis of having animal ears and not necessarily for being a werewolf/wolf-girl. So if theres a portrait that displeases you then you can easily replace it with one you prefer using paint.net or any other program and inserting a 152x152 circular picture overtop. I will also take suggestions for replacements if you feel they are warranted.

What is it?

  • 100 portraits for werewolves. 50 for each gender which can be randomly assigned at the start of the game and to children when they come of age.
  • Includes the required modified version of Seiji's Anime Portrait mod originally found here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=511390130
  • Reduces fertility values of werewolves slightly
  • Allows female werewolves to have the werewolf bitch modifier

Requirements

Install

  • Drop the folder and files into the mod directory folder, probably located for most people here: C:\Users\[Your username]\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod
  • Drop the contents of the .zip into the folder and overwrite and replace files from Dark World
  • Disable other versions of Anime Portraits and Dark World Reborn if you have them

Tips

  • To manually assign a character a portrait first find their character id by typing this in the command window (~): charinfo
  • Then type: add_trait portrait(#) character id . So for example if i want to assign Holo's portrait to my wife: add_trait portrait115 573284
  • To remove a portrait, type: remove_trait rather than add_trait

Credits

  • Dewguru for making Dark World
  • ReMeDy for making things possible with his Static Portrait mod
  • Seiji for his Anime Portrait mod

Attachment info (support topic)

  • Anime Portraits Compatibility patch: This should make Dark World compatible with Anime portraits but without the added werewolf portraits.
  • Werewolf Portraits Stockpile: Collection of individual portraits and unused pictures I acquired for this mod.
  • remove female werewolf portraits: Removes kawaii werewolf girl portraits from being selected by DW for those who dislike them.

Would you consider addong some pics of the additional portraits, please? It would be of convenience to make a potential user decide if he wats to use the mod before actually downloading and trying it. Also, do you plan to update to the current version of DW?

Yeah it should be in in the download section now. I'm not familiar with how to display screenshots on the forum and stuff so I'm trying to figure it out.

I will update it probably once DW: Reborn is more fleshed out.

When you do get your screenshots working, if it saves time, remember, Imgur hates us :D. Broken links are prevalent from many of us posters.

How come the male werewolves get all these cool, ferocious portraits, but females only get these "kawaii cosplay" type of pictures? :/

I appreciate all the effort of making this mod, but would it be possible to make a seperate pack for males and females?

Or can you just delete the female pictures without breaking the game?

Here. I edited some files to remove female werewolf portraits from being selected.  Extract the .zip into DW's folder and replace.

Unfortunately finding suitable werewolf girl portraits that look fierce and imposing was really difficult. So I just went for the easier task of finding cute girls with animal ears since I personally enjoy it.

If you find me some better pictures then ill gladly work on an alternative version but for the time being I don't have the will or the time to go through the lengthy process of finding 50 alternative pictures of a sort that are alot less commonly drawn.

Awesome, thanks!

I'll see what I can do in regards to female werewolf portraits.

I don't promise 50, but I think I can find at least 10-15 decent ones. :)

What process do you use to make the portraits round?

I use paint.net

I use the ellipse tool to select the portrait area and then crop it. Then I re-size the picture to 152x152 and copy paste it into the template bar.

I think you can find much more than 50 portraits with the search "furry" + "wolf".

more than 7000 hentai results here : https://chan.sankakucomplex.com/?tags=furry+wolf&commit=Search

PS: But I like the only eared girls too ;)

I never even considered getting furry female werewolves since i'm not really into that fetish lol. What I really meant was i'd never find more savage looking girls with animal ears similar to this one:

So, I've collected and prepared a batch of 50 feminine-looking werewolf portraits of varying (but, in my opinion) above-average quality.

Feel free to use it if you're interested. :)

Can supply the original pictures too, if required.

Oh crap. Well I think we had a profound misunderstanding.

I was purposefully staying away from female furries since thats something I'm not personally into. If you want, I can arrange them into the template bar but probably not any time soon since I'm busy with college stuff. Expect at least a week.

It should be fairly easy for anyone else to do however, its just as simple as copy pasting the portrait on top of the original picture and thats it. Additionally I can add it to the main post and credit Pantheress for the pictures and whoever puts them all together.

No, it's fine. I knew you weren't interested. :)

(Curse you, English, and your lack of difference between you(specific) and you(general).)

This was more about offering a resource for those who wanted more werewolf-ish portraits.

I realise now I maybe should have asked you before posting it - hope that was okay?

The portraits are not game-ready. You'll have to manually insert those you like into the appropriate .dds files.

So you people don't find it odd that male werewolves go full out wolf, but the females only sprout dog ears and a tail? :P

Well logically I would fully expect both males and females to look like full out werewolves so yes it would be odd.

Fortunately my fantasies can circumvent logic. So my preferences had overtaken any potential desire I might of had to be consistent with both genders.

I find your lack of Holo from Spice and Wolf disturbing

But shes in there though lol. I believe the last female picture is her (portrait 115)

Oh. Well keep doing the Allfather's work. Hmmm I should throw in a few space wolves for the mercenary unit I'm forming...

there a way to get this to work with the new versions of Dark World?

No, not without extensive editing of files and stuff. I'll go through it eventually but i just don't have the time atm.

Screw it, there still aren't enough threads about CK2 mods on page 1 of this subforum.

So, I tried to run this with the compatibility patch for DW 1.25, going so far as to re-DL it for that purpose and...

this happened.

Everything is mildly misaligned, getting a bit worse with every Static Portrait, and causing weird borders on the generated ones.

Is that some sort of Bug in the Mod, a compatibility issue or just to do with my Screen and Resolution?
