Lewd mods and XCOM 2

Which items are missing exactly? And which other mods from here are installed and running?

Well I tried them with them being the only ones loaded and they still don't show up.  Like I said. The items in wrex's 1.0 packs all work fine and show up. Everything added in the 2.0 pack don't show and make the jack pants item invisible.  I'm guessing it's down to the added items between 1.0 and 2.0 need DLC cosmetic packs. I'm running with no DLC.

 

If you want a run down on the mods I want to use with them, then it's LW2 and some various mods that effect LW2. Also some other outfit mods and voice packs. (from the steamworkshop)

I wasn't using the WOTC version of your packs. (In the mod index there is a WOTC version and normal version IIRC.)  I got the ones in

Post.  The torso and leg packs 2.0 version.  NOT the ones listed here:

I'm saying that when I install your packs what ends up happening is that only the items present in your 1.0 pack ever show up. If I only install 1.0 everything works fine. If I only install 2.0 only the items in 1.0 show up and Jacks pants that are still listed show up invisible.  Since there seems to be some misunderstanding on whats going on.  I didn't install them both at the same time. (Only when trying to troubleshoot, some one mentioned to fix them you need 1.0 installed and overwrite it with 2.0 and so forth.)

Yes, there were 2 releases of Wrex456 lewd mods for Vanilla.

The missing Jacks pants in v2.0 was confirmed by Wrex456 himself here (12-12-2016):

I don't know the correct answer, maybe yes, DLC are needed. I can't test myself because I have all DLC. But as you said you find all items from v1.0 except Jack pants, therefore I guess it works as it should work.

I figure that it needs some of the cosmetic DLC, I was just wondering if I was trying to do something wrong or if there was a work around. Or if some one would be kind enough to rebuild the mod without DLC dependency if possible.

Well, my first feeling is that your packs 2.0 are not installed.

Maybe you have installed both and not selected the 2.0 from your launcher, or you have mixed your download files 1.0 and 2.0 and you have installed 1.0.

Did you check the date of the file Leg_Pack_Assets.upk for instance in (...)\mods\Leg_Pack\Content folder? It should be 2016-11-24 (instead of 2016-07-17 for Leg_Pack.upk)

Nope I did 100% install the 2.0 DL file.  Thursday, ‎November ‎24, ‎2016 is what the file says.

That's a tough case! :classic_wink:

I'm not a modder, I hope Wrex456 may have an idea.

With the list of what you see and what you don't see, it seems clear that you have 1.0 installed but you have the correct asset files and you don't see anymore the jack's pant which confirm you have the 2.0 content.

Therefore, maybe the ini files which setup what assets you can see from where in the game are not correct somewhere. Maybe in the mods folder, or maybe somewhere else, the ini content has not been synchronized correctly? Maybe an issue with the launcher?

 

Did you check this file (...)\Mods\Leg_Pack\ConfigXComContent.ini?

So a couple of questions to any of the modders here, if they have the time, since it's a pain for me to discern what, if anything, has changed with XCOM 2 modding during these years and so many updates/DLCs:

1.) What are currently the main issues when adding new textures/models

2.) What are currently the main issues for anyone that tries to add new animations

I'm answering these with a pretty limited experience, others here are far better suited than me, but putting that aside.

 

1. Modding xcom is a pain in the ass, just the tools are a 100gb download (for wotc), and for vanilla is another 60gb (not sure on this one), so if you want a mod to both version you have to make them work on 2 diff tools, and with 2 diff ways of doing, maps are diff, textures are in diff place... it's a pain, doable but a pain nonetheless.

 

2. Animations are another major block, it can be done but you need to know some diff 3D techniques, like rigging and modeling. On top of that you need to import the skeletons and make them work with your model, with much care since a single bone can make anims bonkers. The entire process is not well documented and while some modders got success on that regard no sex anims were done so far.

 

So in summary, modding xcom is a bit complex, more complex than skyrim for example, it IS doable and anyone can learn (I did, so you can do it too), is just needs patience and time.

Just curious, but does anyone here plan to upload any mods to the steam workshop? They changed the policy on mods with nudity for an example lookit all the haydee lewd mods...anyhoo. The device is use to play my games on unfortunately doesnt allow me access to the physical mods folder so my only hope is that some kind soul uploads wrexs part mods to steam o.o nvidia shield is nice to play games on but not being able to use nexus or lovers lab makes me depressed i miss my rig may she rest in piece so my only affordable option was a shield.my backup laptop might work to upload mods but i never tried it on there cuz its ancient x.x likely a nogo
