varenne Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 This would be Construction Set Extender by shadeMe. Just curious if anyone is using 7.1 and how they like it. I did not like the 6.xx series and have been using 5.xx ever since. Was wondering if the lack of window controls, especially re-sizing was ever addressed or solved in 7.1.
myuhinny Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Never heard of it I'm still using CS version 1.2.404
tolerance Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 I'm rather new to it, just got 7.08 i think, so i cant tell you how it compares to older versions...what was wrong with v 6? ...anyway, I like it, got it so i can add hair and eyes to races easier, and it does just that. Only problems I've had that i can think of is random crashing when going through and viewing different NPCs and the renderer not working on dense places like colourwheel's dance club, and im pretty sure the first issue was inherited from Bethesda's vanilla cs. And to answer at least part of your question, yes you can resize the different windows.
varenne Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 Thanks! v 6 had issues with some windows not being able to re-size them or scroll up down left right, which in some situations made them difficult to work with. I noticed shademe has continued to work on this till end of Dec 2015, so I may give it a go.
Fienyx Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I have 7.1, so far no complaints, though I've only changed npc genders. No crashes after changing several hundred (MOO, TIE) all generic npc's are female now. Haven't looked at any world space / cell editing yet, but so far it's working for me nicely.
varenne Posted January 30, 2016 Author Posted January 30, 2016 Thanks too for the input! I think the windowing issues I had with 6.xx was with editing quests. Not 100% sure though.
Supierce Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Thanks too for the input! I think the windowing issues I had with 6.xx was with editing quests. Not 100% sure though. Yep, that's my problem with CSE too. It is indeed the quest window and it still can't be resized.

Yep, that's my problem with CSE too. It is indeed the quest window and it still can't be resized. Even in the 7.xxx series? Well that sux. Staying with 5 for now then. Maybe I should drop a note and/or request on shademe to see if a fix is planned or even possible. Scratch that. I remember now why I didn't do it for 6.xxx. You have to report the bug or make the request here in the Bethesda Softworks Forums, http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1068205-shademes-flyspeck-creations/ and after creating an account I cannot post a reply in the thread. If anyone reading this that has an account and can post there, please forward this issue/feature request on.

IIRC, ShadeMe said he switched to a different library that didn't allow that particular window to resize. And since 6x (and apparently 7x) depends on that library, there's no going back.
varenne Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 Bummer! Guess I'll have to stay with 5 then. Only way to work on quest stuff.
QuiteTheTail Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 My "Drunken Glaswegian" (v 6.3.7.421) recently started crashing as soon as I open a script. I was told that a reinstall could fix the problem, but since a new version is out, and I'm not editing quests so far, I might give it a try. Sure, I don't like the idea of the limitation, even if matters little to me at the moment. P.S. Crap... no more sintax highlighting in 7.1 But at least I can edit scripts now, no more crashes. UPDATE Rolled back to 7.0 after experiencing some other problems. A full reinstall restored the application to its former state.
