Caffeine Addict Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 One of the musical heroes from my youth has passed away Dear David Bowie, where ever you are now, thank you for being there with your music during times that were not easy. Thank you for all the uplift you gave me with your songs. I hope you will reunite with Freddy and start to rock the place you are now.
rolex11 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Well spoken Comrade, This is a deeply depressing day for me also.
Guest Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Oh, maaaaan. If my father would be alive he'll be sad because he was one of my father's youth idols. He loved to dance on his songs. His favorite song by D.B. was
Dr. Thang Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Damn, that's so sad... I was never a huge Bowie fan but I respected the hell out of him, guy's a legend, and there's not a whole lot of them left, especially since we lost Lemmy just a few weeks ago. You will be missed, Goblin King.
Yotix Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 "Let's Dance" was a huge hit when I was 13; and even back then I hated songs that played on normal radio. This here though ... <3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOktFATWX0I
Sural Argonus Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Can't say I am a huge fan, but I do enjoy his work. Tho I have to admit, I am one of the few that was actually creeped out by Jareth the Goblin King. I know Labyrinth is considered one of the best cult films ever, and I can't deny I enjoyed the film. It just doesn't change the fact that as a parent, Jareth just screams pedophile to me. Perhaps that is just because I never saw it until later in life. I didn't see it until just a couple years ago for one reason or another, I just never managed to watch it.
bjornk Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Wasn't a big fan of his music, except perhaps a couple of his hits back in the 80s, but two of his films, "The Man Who Fell to Earth" and "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" are among my favorite films and he was pretty good in them. He was also a Scott Walker fan, which I appreciate. I don't feel sad about his death though, the quicker you leave this stinking world the better. Hope he finds a better place. Oh, he definitely had one of the best voices I've ever heard.
