Guest Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Anybody else have like a bunch of dead ghouls or raiders in there settlements and they dont de-spawn. I have tried the disable command and the delete any ideas guys.
Guest MonsterFish Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 'Zap'? That's what they used in FO3 and FO:NV, right? Wait... no, I remember using the disable command before.
myuhinny Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I have had that before in skyrim you will be running around and all of a sudden a dead mammoth or dragon will fall on my head. Hitting disable on them will not work as after a bit everything resets and they are back. Have you been kiiling any of them in places that you have been at? They could be getting placed there after you killed them. I have seen that in skyrim as well kill something and later it falls from the skyrim in front of you.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 'Zap'? That's what they used in FO3 and FO:NV, right? Wait... no, I remember using the disable command before. I don't know what Fallout 4's command is, but yes, Fallout 3 and New Vegas used "zap" to remove objects or actors once you click them and their reference appeared up top. Skyrim used "disable". Even remember someone making a zap gun mod to shoot actors to make them go away. Or maybe it was intended for just dead bodies to get rid of the low frames. If I only had one in real life. bwahahahaha
Guest Mogie56 Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Not sure dead things even despawn over time but when clicking on the dead thing make sure you got it cause if you got something else and you "disable" well it isn't pretty. been there done that and had to shut down without saving and lost a bunch of time.

If it was an NPC or creature it might not enable in exactly the same spot (likely their original spawn point).
myuhinny Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Pretty sure for fallout NV the minute you hit ok or close the console screen the the id and name of whatever you clicked disappears not sure on fallout 4.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 It does. It's not like Skyrim, which is pretty neat to have.
neanderthrall Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I use markfordelete, this will remove the mesh permanently but may not take immediate effect so I follow up with the disable command to make it invisible. List of console commands here.
Guest Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Ok so it works on some of the dead bodies but in some settlements e.g Croup Manor there are dead feral ghouls that wont go de-spawn as they're meant to be there
Guest MonsterFish Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Dno if this works or if it was MFG console or no longer works in FO4 or what. But have you tried to use the scroll wheel on your mouse if you have one to scroll between the entities occupying the same space?
cossayos Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 There's a mod on the nexus, letting you scrap bodies.
Guest Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 There's a mod on the nexus, letting you scrap bodies. Oh good thanks I go and search for it know.
AsariX Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Careful with removing unremovables, whether it's through console or ScrapScrap or some other mod. You may accidentally cause a cell-reset, which isn't noticable right away, but re-populates the contents of your containers. So legendary guns you have stored may disappear, power armors get new pieces (and might suddenly miss a leg or something), that kind of stuff. So you'd want to clean up a settlement before you start to actually use it as a settlement.
DocClox Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 There's a "Scrap Dead Things" mod on Nexus that lets you recycle bodies scrap bodies for things like fertiliser. Different bodies have different scrap values. Might be worth a look,
Benmc20 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Anybody else have like a bunch of dead ghouls or raiders in there settlements and they dont de-spawn. I have tried the disable command and the delete any ideas guys.Try "markfordelete" but be very carefull with this one (totally irreversible).
cossayos Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Try "markfordelete" but be very carefull with this one (totally irreversible). The mod is the best thing to use. Why use console commands, if there's already a mod for it. The only thing it doesn't do, is scrap freshly killed enemies, when an attack happens. But settlers take care of them anyways. The old ones, such as skeletons, ghoul bodies and animal corpses, are scrapped just fine. In short, everything that was already there when you take over or clear certain spots.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I would rather use console commands over having a unnecessary plugin in my load order taking up space. That's me though. If it can be merged that would be an alternative. The other choice is just doing the combination of essential mods like that into one if possible without it breaking scripts.
Moopheus Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I would rather use console commands over having a unnecessary plugin in my load order taking up space. This. I've been using markfordelete to get rid of not despawning ghouls, mole rat mounds, skeletons and other stuff. When they finally release the GECK and mod authors can actually start serious modding i might change to using mods.

I'd do that if only there was a way to be certain that whatever I clicked was really the thing I wanted to delete. But for some reason, the console only gives me some ID number. I've already accidentally deleted some walls and roads while trying to clean up other things, meaning I had to reload and try deleting again and again..

Then it's been dumbed down like vanilla Skyrim. The best thing to do is use a mod in the meant time until a mod like MFG Console for Skyrim comes out that allows you to click on NPCs and objects that gives information like reference and base IDs. Fallout 3 and New Vegas had both the NPCs name and ID on the top. I believe for objects too but I'm not entirely certain.
myuhinny Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Just make a barbecue mod so that you can start barbecuing all the dead stuff that should take care of the pile and keep your player and other people in your settlement fed and healthy at the same time.
