DocClox Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Pickman's Blade is still my current weapon. With Kellogg's .45 for the occasional turret, spotlight and alarm monkey. I've even been known to fire it at raiders from time to time. Best non-named one so far is a relentless switchblade with a serrated blade. Great for tearing through mobs, but Pickman's is better for most purposes so I tend to stick with that.
Thermius Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Best effective use weapon: Explosive pipe pistol. I added an auto receiver to it and now it chews through most grouped enemies like there's a tax on combat time... Best fun weapon: Two-shot auto-tracking missilelauncher.
Guest Mogie56 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Depending on your level and perks just about any weapon can be damn effective. even a 10mm with the right upgrades can do extensive damage in a short amount of time. I like different weapons for different ranges. Hunting rifle turned .50 cal. sniper with recon long scope, marksman stock. can do "ok" damage but with the right perks can turn an ancient behemoth into gibs in 2 to 3 shots sometimes even 1 with a fully charged crit bar. of course if your looking for unequaled damage every time MIRV with the extended timer mod but you have a lot of surrounding damage as well so you take your chances with that. a Four Shot tracking missle launcher is fun as well Assault rifles are nice run and gun weapons with the right upgrades but it's all what upgrades work best for you though. Even a puncturing Power Fist can be devastating given the right perks.
Mister E Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Everyone tends to overlook the Plasma-Infused and Freezing Legendary weapons, but they're on of my favorite types. Why, you ask? It's only a measly 10 damage per shot, Explosive is 15, it's much better! Because the Plasma and Freezing damage are actually added to the weapon's damage, NOT tacked on at the end. This means that they are affected by any and all perks that increase that weapon's damage! Get either of those on something that can be made automatic and suddenly the Commando Perk is your best friend, allowing you to 20 damage, plus whatever the weapon's damage would be. A lowly Pipe Pistol that happened to be Plasma-Infused was one of my first Legendary weapons, and 50 or so levels later it's still my go-to boss shredder, just reborn as an automatic rifle. Good damage and cheap, plentiful ammo keep it useful. I call it the Garbage Disposal. My second favorite is a Freezing Institute Rifle, which again started as a mediocre pistol but got modded into my full-auto "desperation" weapon for when something needs to die yesterday. It made saving Kent a breeze too, just needed a critical hit. I don't have a name for it though. (Any suggestions?) (Explosive can do more bonus damage, but you need to invest in the Demolitions Expert Perks, not Commando. I will get those eventually, but until then Explosive just isn't quite as good.)

The mirelurk queen at the Castle didn't stand a chance .
Content Consumer Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Infinite ammunition rocket launcher. Why bother with adding a 4-barrel mod to it when you no longer have to worry about reloading at all? Just spam the attack button until everything within ten miles has been converted into gibs. The second best one was an explosive 10mm pistol. For some reason, your average double-barrel shotgun when fully upgraded can barely chip away at a Mirelurk's health, but a piddly little 10mm pistol with the explosive legendary effect rips right through their shells.

Destroys everything it's not even funny. what about a freezing shotgun? use this mod on your any weapon Freezing 1F5479 Does 10 points cryo damage and will freeze targets on critical hits. Just Drop Weapon, Open Console and Click on Weapon, "attachmod <ID>" or "amod <ID>" - "removemod <ID>" to remove.
