tenzan Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Just curious if this is feasible at all. I also would not want one of those edible-cake-decoration-looking prints, something more like a cheap action figure quality would be tolerable; if even it had to be pieced together from separate prints. It would be a static pose, not an actual action figure. I would need the character's face, body, and a few accessories. The hair would have to be sculpted fresh in 3d or from putty. The face and body meshes would look pretty basic on their own, so the normal map would have to be converted to height map and placed on a hi poly. Just rambling at this point. Any thoughts?
Arken Red Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 It's possible, but you'd have to convert the files to something that the 3d printer can handle(I've gotten this far)
Zerosleepless Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Well if me or any of my friends owned a 3d printer , i know i'd burn my ass off trying to make it happen . Awesome idea for sure , would be great to have figurines my character , in different outfits.
Cien Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Sounds great, but I think the colors would be a problem :/
Guest Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Awesome idea. All sorts of amiibo-like geeky things come to mind. I'd sit for hours painting them up too, old school.
Rayblue Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Theoretically it's possible to have the character put into a pose, and then in some way use an SKSE plugin -- something like Netimmerse Override -- to generate a full figure in NIF form that can then be exported to other formats.
Captain Cobra Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I'd do it in a heart beat if I had a 3D printer.
