MuteDay Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 currently i do not know if i will be updating this mod anymore, sence "a few dicks" interfeared with my only income, and forced me to remove the only way to have it tested without having to keep zipping everything every tiny update (i dont play CK2) i have you guys test it for me, but now im unsure of if i want to or not

You'll need to upload it there, but it's something similar i may pick it back up when my game takes off but till then this is on hold

It works with tortoise SVN, only drawback that I know of is it doesn't automatically zip everything into download-ready form.

If you could get a limited number of dedicated testers, you could set up a private repository that only you and the testers could access. That would let you get feedback and bug test without having as much risk of assholes fucking with your computer.
Leafknight4 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Has anyone else experienced messed up flags with this mod? Edit: I mean coat of arms flags, not event flags. The only thing I can think of that would cause this is landed titles or mercenary bands without assigned flags, though I'm not sure. Edit 2: Found the only real advice I could get from the CK2 Wiki: Flags are used for titles above baronies, but only for religions where has_coa_on_barony_only = yesWarning: A missing flag for a title in flags\ folder will cause wrong flags to appear for most titles, due to a shift. I checked the religion and has_coa_on_barony_only was set to "no". According to the wiki there has to be a missing flag somewhere to cause this issue, so I'm a little more confident mercenary flags are the issue. Either this, or that the custom kingdoms still need a flag file in case the title somehow converts religion. Edit 3: I just tried adding mercenary flags for the love/lust/sex whore mercenaries, and the flags are slightly less messed up, I'm going to try adding flags for the custom duchies and see what happens.

Here's the (slightly plain and repetitive) flags I used, for anyone who has the same problem. Just drop the flags folder inside into the gfx directory in the mod! And a backup link just in case! flags.rar

My original post: So, I've continued to try tweaking this mod to my liking since MuteDay has gone on hiatus from the hacking incident. One of the things I've been working on is changing the graphics to un-stretched versions (still working on that), but one tweak I figured I'd post for others who want to try it is a very small tweak to the virgin and non-virgin traits. In my opinion, the many small penalties added to the non-virgin trait are simply unnecessary, and some of them didn't make sense for example, why would a non-virgin have an opinion penalty towards a virgin? Aren't virgins more desirable in the era? Also, why would church members dislike non-virgins? What I basically did, was to add half of the church opinion malus for non-virgins to the church opinion bonus for virgins, re-wrote opposite trait opinions so the only effect is an opinion bonus towards virgins (I think...I might have gotten it backwards), and taken the piety hit for non-virgins away, and increased the piety increase for virgins by just as much. Yeah, I know. Words, and lots of 'em. I talk a lot. Er....write a lot? Whatever. Basically, it tones down the penalties virgins/non-virgins have towards each other, in exchange for reduced bonuses. It's kind of a useless adjustment now, since Dark World now has its own Virgin trait, making the two mods...less than compatible. This is the changed trait code for all of you fluent in Paradox: virgin = { customizer = no opposites = { virginno } monthly_character_piety = 0.5 sex_appeal_opinion = 5 opposite_opinion = 10 church_opinion = 10 same_opinion = 5 random = no } virginno = { customizer = no opposites = { virgin } sex_appeal_opinion = -5 same_opinion = 5 random = no } And like I when I first posted this: So, what do you guys think? Should I share some more tweaks, or keep them to myself? I find a lot of ideas I have aren't really that popular, so I usually only post small fixes like this. I seriously need some feedback here. TT_TT For what it's worth I've been using the tweaks you've posted for awhile, so they are appreciated. I've also been heavily tweaking Sexual Crusaders myself for personal use, mainly to make it more compatible with Dark World and CK2Plus. Mostly though all I've done is edit all of SC's checks/triggers from using it's sexualized religions to use Dark World's religion instead via religion_group = demonic. That way all of SC's added content can be used without having to convert to it's religion.

(Using gender-neutral pronouns for the sake of politeness). If they don't come back by 2016, I'll likely try to add some more substantial tweaks, such as completely overhauling the traits and possibly re-working the Sexualized religions. I hope there will come a point where MuteDay returns, but if they don't I'd at least like to keep the features they worked so hard on properly working. @Ashal: Thanks! It's great to know they're actually useful. Although, like you said, there are issues with Dark World now, especially with DW's recent features. I like what you did with the checks and triggers. If I were to do something like that, I'll probably either keep the checks for the sexualized religions, or change sexualized religions to also be in the "demonic" religious group so certain Dark World features also work with sexualized religions. But that's because I set high goals for myself and never do them. Yay! Feedback!! (\(^o^)/) It fuels my creative soul! (don't ask ...I already regret it. orz ) Now, I have a few tweaks I'm thinking of trying out, but I've decided that just in case January rolls into February and there's still no news from MuteDay, I set up a little project for myself, that is more about me trying out new ways to keep the mod alive than about any ideas of actually finishing it (though I would try to finish once I start): Once I get back from Winter break (and my WiFi-free dead-zone of a hometown) I would like to try to work on a sort of "SC-redux", which would have fewer features and would require Dark World to work (since it would share a lot of Dark World's code, that means it needs Dark World's code), but also be much easier to maintain and update. For the changes I'd make in a Sexual Crusaders cross-mod redux version: Things I'd get rid of: -prison rape event (now that Dark World has that covered) -Virginity traits (again, Dark World) -Some of the on_action events (it really improves a mod's performance not having too much going on in the background) -Lots of code (since whenever I rework an event, it somehow ends up with less code. >_>) Things I'd change: -virginity checks: anything that asks for the non-virgin trait, will instead ask whether they have the virgin trait (NOT = { has_trait = virgin }) -Sexualized Religions: they need to become more cross-compatible with DW -Pictures and events: dewguru found an event window that uses larger pictures. I'd like to steal that idea Things I'd add: -Checks in certain events to allow traits/events from Dark World to also trigger them -Succubus/Vampire/Werewolf-specific flavor for SC events -relationship modifiers between Sexualized religions and Demonic (Lilithian/Luciferian) religions Why list so many features? Because I know I won't do them all regardless of how many I features I list, so this way I at least don't run out of ideas in the future. Unlike development of an actual mod, this kind of thing would likely come in bits and pieces, as I work out how to add each individual feature, and the end result will probably end up completely different from what I expected. Also, I found that it's much harder to make Sexual Crusaders cross-mod compatible than it is for Dark World, because all the checks for cross-mod features tell Dark World whether Sexual Crusaders is active, not the other way around. If it was at least the other way around, all it would take is some minor edits to events and on_actions to fix some of the more obvious problems. *sigh*...As of now, I am assuming you all use this mod along with Dark World. It just makes my job so much easier... Well that's it for now, this wall-of-text brought to you today by: the letter X and the number 69. I appreciate the feedback I've already received, but since I just announced some more tweak ideas I have (among my list of possible features), I'd like to know what you guys think. Should I go through with it? Should I wait it out some more in case MuteDay really does come back? Should I not make the redux version at all, and just stick to tweaks? I don't mind being told if I come up with a crappy idea, but I do hate going through with a bad idea like an idiot 'cause nobody told me otherwise. That's all. If you're going to keep putting stuff out, that will change and I'll look forward to it because I like the ideas behind this mod and it's sad that MuteDay had to go dark.
