It's because the esp is in a different language than English.

 

Look for an English version of the file, or translate it to English yourself in TESVEdit.

Open the ESP in TESEdit.

 

Expand all the headings and you'll see a number of items with edits to change the language. Simply change them back. 

 

For followers that add custom locations or dialog, you may be out of luck unless you know the language. For the rest, the original English entries still exist so you just need to reference what they are.

 

Often English modders will also make mistakes and you may get spellos and typos in mods off Nexus (for example). Easily fixable.

You need to DL all, then hold CTRL and highlight all the files and extract (I use 7-zip)  then you can zip everything up into once zip file that can be loaded into NMM or MO.  I would upload this one for you, but the zip file is 110.4mb. (limit of 100mb)
