It apparently supports both 1333MHz and 1066MHz speed memory modules, And in theory it should support 1600MHz as well Right ????

But when I checked there are mixed opinions about it that it may or may not work

I want to get something over or 1600MHz cause it will be useful in the future when I want to change the board and keep the RAMs , Im using an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 if the processor makes any difference

Cheers and Thanks

If you're happy with the motherboard then get the cheapest 8GB RAM available and supported by the motherboard. Doesn't matter if it's DDR2 or DDR3. Don't buy anything for the future. I also highly doubt that you'd feel any difference between a 1333 MHz and a 1600 MHz RAM. The amount of RAM matters much more.

Cause there are Discounts on now so , Its just that it should Work lol , for modding and such and at least let me Try to play Skyrim with some ENB's and Stuff

Edit - Thats about 34bucks (USD) each

Motherboard companies have a "supported" memory list. If you use that you can't go wrong. You have the link to the site just look at the supported memories and select one of them. keep in mind that that MOBo is quite old and might need to be upgraded soon or break. I wouldn't spend any more than was necessary to get it to work for what you need it to do.

Unless you plan on messing with voltages and overclock just get the standard suggested speed. It will be more reliable in the long run with less drama.

Depends on what you mean by work.

From the looks of things you can probably run the 1600Hz ram in 1333 mod (set it in bios), you aren't taking full advantage of it but it should work.

You can try to OC it even further to 1600Hz, but millage will likely vary.

Just make sure you are using the blue slots for the DDR3 ram.

That's true but those compatibility lists are often incomplete and outdated. I actually had already browsed through that list before replying Zaz. I did not mention it because there were very few 4GB 1333 MHz modules supported by this motherboard and I couldn't find them on any reliable retailers such as Newegg or Amazon.

You may also try searching for compatible memories on memory manufacturer websites such as Kingston, Corsair or Crucial. I had already done that before posting and couldn't find anything compatible on Kingston, Corsair and GSkill. Don't know about Crucial.

Yea , for now may go for this one someone in the comments section has the same board as Mine and Vouched that it works

Edit - 3 people have Vouched for the G41 Combo

G.Skill NT DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC DRAM (F3-10600CL9S-4GBNT)

Any Feed back on these RAMS ?

Will check the support list , but I think the newer ones weren't on them

Cheers and thanks

True. The models might be off but the speeds listed wouldn't be. At least if there were a number of memory modules that were of that speed zaz could be more confident on his purchase.

That is correct I wasn't clear. The newest ones wouldn't be on there but I was hopeful that at least some of the models would be there. Anyway you can see from those list speeds that the manufacture tested an confirmed worked with that board. That would at least help determine if it was good to go over the speed. Most ram however will clock down one speed level to match the board so that shouldn't be much of a problem. That is the best feedback you can get is actual users on line stating that it works. Get the ram from a company that allows exchanges in case there is any issues. Oh, check and see if there are any bios updates as well. Might need that as well as check to see if there are any issues with the bios updates. your board is old but a good one. Can last several more years before blowing out :).

DDR3 memory is much preferred in that it's faster than DDR2.

However in the case of this motherboard, if you have to use 1333s you'll have to overclock and that's the limit of the board. Otherwise the 1600s will step down its clock to any of the two other lower settings available in the modules.

Personally I'll look for a better second-hand working motherboard that can support the processor, and at the same time use more recent DDR3s.

Although I use Kingstons for years, I still vouch for G.Skill owing to its quality and performance.

Thank you all for the valuable feed back ,

I don't think I'm any good at over clocking seems a little risky, Also this not a New Board or Processor its a used one so I will hold off on Stressing it further than the norms :s

I doubt I will find a Second hand Board which supports this particular socket , after a month of searching this one managed to fall into my hands luckily

This is last Upgrade for this particular Rig could use the additional Memory  for Max and other heavy 3d sofware

Thats the one I would go for , even second hand if they are available

Cheers and thank you all so much
