On an aircraft carrier, we had a "radio station" (internal comms, no transmission) that would place music for the crew.  They would play "dedicated songs" from loved ones who had to mail (this was back before email, IM, etc.) the chaplain's office with the request, and they would do their best to play it.    However, the crew member was never told of this, so if you weren't listening all the time, you could miss it.    So, I missed my wife dedicating this song to me when our ship started our second 6 month (turned out to be 8 month) deployment to the Mediterranean.
