Yvell Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I was trying to use a mod I used in the past (a few month ago, maybe years) and it don't work any more... and I have no idea why. (it's not a L.Lab mod) the mod is "epic summons mod" ( http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/30822/?), and it worked before. I've not using it for a while, and would like to use it again. This mod add some summons spells for sale to Edgar's Discount Spells in the Market District of Imperial City, but when I enable the esp (with OBMM), I have no error messages, and there is no new spells for sale to Edgar's Discount Spells... This mod should work without problems, I already was using it before, but it seems not working anymore... and I would undersand why... EDIT: I'm not very familiar with Oblivion mods (it's been a while since I've played), so I can't really help with your load order, but do you know off hand anything in particular that would also change Edgar (or all shopkeepers)?
myuhinny Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Have you run BOSS for load order manually moving lovers mods followed by running TES4EDIT you can also use it to see what all mods are using/overwriting the .esp? It could also be that the mod is old and needs to be updated. **Last updated at 2:58, 5 Dec 2012** To use the spoilers just highlight and cut everything then click the box with the green line going through it and select spoiler then paste everything into the box and hit ok. It's between the eraser and font.

myuhinny Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 It also could be because you do not have the .esp installed unless I'm blind but there doesn't seem to be a EpicHordeSummons.esp in your load order. I even copied and pasted it into notebook and used the find option and it wasn't there.

myuhinny Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 If the Lock and Key Mod was after EpicHordeSummons.esp then the Lock and Key Mod would be trumping the EpicHordeSummons.esp since both modify the same thing so the last in the load order will trump the one above it and will win out over the one above it.

Maybe mine looks better because I pasted it into notebook then copied it back out and then pasted it into the spoiler. Have you tried turning off all of your mods except for the Beautiful People and any other race mod and try starting a new game to see if that fixes it. When you add or remove mods sometimes it is best to start a new game to see if it works then.

It don't work any more for me... it fail to update masterlist (maybe because it is not supported any more) And I'm running TES4EDIT at this time... edit: It's done, TES4EDIT finished. Not sure on the error I put it into the search bar and all I got was ones for skyrim and those threads were saying to use LOOT instead which in this case will **not** help since LOOT is only a skyrim tool now since it is no longer being updated for any of the other games like BOSS was.

Content Consumer first backstabbed me, then exposed the limits of my english and finally demonstrated that I'm not even able to count to 202. Now, with your permission, I'm going to find a place to hide for the next two months.

I just copied it into a text file, opened it with Notepad++, then hit find-and-replace and replaced all ".es" strings and counted the result. I wish Windows had a GREP function... EDIT: Missed the edit anyway, or I wouldn't have bothered.
myuhinny Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 With oblivion if you go over the .esp/.esm limit you should CTD as that is what use to happen to me if I went over the limit. But now I just install peoples armor/outfit mesh and texture folders throw away their .esp and add the outfit/armor nifs to a chest in a .esp that I made which really cuts down on the load order list.

Mine was just a guess. @ Yvell In any case, you should try to find out what's preventing you from installing Wrye Bash. You will probably need it at some point (even though a quick glance at your current modlist doesn't reveal many mergeable esp). Right now you would benefit more from myuhinny's suggestion (collapse several armor/clothing mods into one using TES4Gecko or similar programs).

I'm still searching why this mod don't work anymore... And I don't know if someone else have the same issue. (it could help) Maybe I should search an other mod, to summon groups of imperial soldiers, daedras, monsters etc... (it was a fun mod to play)
varenne Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 You should be able to setup the standalone version of Wrye Bash 295.5; Wrye Bash 295.5 - Standalone Executable.7z Partial Readme If you're using the Standalone version, the only thing you need to install manually is the MSVC++ 2008 redistributable at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/confirmation.aspx?familyid=ba9257ca-337f-4b40-8c14-157cfdffee4e&displaylang=en If that Microsoft link does not work for MSVC++ 2008 redistributable, just do a Google search for it. For Intermediate and Advanced Users Where others have had issue in the past is with the installer version, as it requires specific Python dependencies be installed or already present from a prior Python install, AND those dependencies are Python version specific. You can have multiple versions of Python installed and the recommended install location is directly off of root; C:\ I also use version Wrye Bash 304.3 - Standalone Executable.7z for the face import/export feature, which is broken in Wrye Bash 295.5. Fore this all you need to do is download the 7z archive and unpack it to a location of your choice. I have it in a Tools folder on another drive and made a link to it from my desktop. Regarding your issue with a MOD no longer working, that did previously, it may be too many scripts running and not enough resources to successfully run everything. Or it may be script conflicts. There was a tool that movomo posted back a couple or few months that can show you what is running during game time and which are the resource hogs. You may also want to look into that, as it may help to identify your specific issue of this MOD not running. I think the post was in Oblivion Technical.
Jack of All Trades Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 I remember having a similar problem with an overhaul mod and a mod that added clothes to a specific shop, but I remembered how the shop system works and I tcl'd under the map and found 3 chests, 1 being the special enchanted item that a lot of vendors carry, the other being the normal shop that the overhaul changed, and the last containing the modded items. I don't know if this would work for you but try opening the console and tcl yourself under the map. (The chests are usually floating somewhere under the map)
