Shadowhawk827 Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Card is fine. I would get a bigger hard drive though. 1 TB is small anymore and it's amazing how much space a few heavily modded games can eat up.

I have two titan x's and most quality preset ENBs run at about 110-120, some go down 80 (K, NLA, Serenity/Tranqulity) you'll also need a 4Ghz processor or better if you plan to run a bunch of scripted mods, if you only plan to run a couple, it's fine. That VC also will not run w3 on ultra at 1920, much less 4K, you'll eed a titan (or two) to do that as well if you expect 60 frames a second

chevyowner Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I also doubt one 970 will run GTAV on Ultra @ 4k. On "Normal" textures aka low in GTAV it can easily use 3-4GB of VRAM at 1080p.

For anything running less, this is complete and total OVERKILL both on your budget and wasted cycles. For cards, the minimum you're going to want is either an AMD Fury or a nVidia 980, period. Nothing else is going to run a 4K setup well. So you're looking at: AMD Fury AMD Fury X nVidia Titan Z nVidia 980 "" 980 Ti "" Titan X if you're planning on running 4K and 8K graphic mods at 4K, you're going to need 6 gigs of VRAM, period. The CPU you picked is good on the processor side as a starter, but for SKYRIM and the Witcher, you're going to need 4G to run all the effects, scripts and logic nad still get 60fps, which is your target in both games, in fact 60fps is Skyrim's limit, preferably 4 cores in the case of the Witcher. You can separate out the processes in Skyrim off of two cores, but it's still not going to help very much, in Slyrim's case it's all about speed, not how many cores; for witcher it's about speed and cores. so you might wanna get a 4500 or 4700 or a top end i5 processor and a decent SSD instead, if you can afford it.

I want the power xDDD

Setekh Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 If you want 4k at appreciable frame rates then you'll need a Fury/980Ti at a minimum. Also, 4790k's are cheap right now, pair that with a good z97 board.
chevyowner Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I run my games at 1920x1080. I have 2 660s in SLI, and despite what most wont believe I get great performance with Skyrim, and about 180 mods. This is 1080 and not 4k I know. I think the OP can get what is wanted for Skyrim to work with a single 970, but not GTAV. I don't know about the Witcher. I changed 3 settings in the NVIDIA control panel. These setting get me better performance but may do nothing or make it worse for others. SLI rendering mode - Force alternate frame rendering 1 Vertical sync - Off Not sure if this one does anything but.. Power management mode - Prefer maximum performance.
