vram1974 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I obviously installed the wrong thing at the wrong time but I'm not sure what could have caused this. Unless the character has a FaceGenData they ALL have this super super ugly blocky face: Any ideas how to fix this?

vram1974 Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 I appreciate your guide but it's not about the process and steps, I've done all that. There's something really messed up with the appearance of the face if there's no FaceGenData folder. Everybody has that face in the screenshot. I disabled every single ESP (300 mods) in the load order so it's got to be something locally installed in the data directory. But I can't find out what it is. Check this out. When I disable the FaceGenData directory everybody in the game has this same hideous, kill yourself because it's so bad, face:
Corinthinius Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 If you still have ECE scripts lingering about, eliminate them. They start with "zz" so they will probably be at the bottom of the list. In fact, go ahead and sweep the scripts folder. ECE and RM used to kinda work together with limitations, now they are completely at odds with one another. And of course, since ECE doesn't come in .bsa form, you can expect its scripts to run after RM regardless of how you sort the files. Now if you never used ECE, tell us what mods you were running.

Because I did actually install ECE once but decided to use Racemenu. So I went through my data folder and found lots of leftovers. All deleted. SADLY it did not fix anything. Sigh. At this point I have tried activating and deactivating FaceGenData for meshes and textures and it doesn't fix it, I tried reinstalling texture mods, I tried reinstalling head and face meshes, I deleted the face tri files, I reinstalled any mods I thought might affect faces but it didn't change anything. The result was equally horrific. Something very very very bad has happened to the women's faces and I might just have to nuke my data directory from space and start over. Not sure if you can see my follower there but she's fine since she has proper FaceGenData in her folder.

The 300 mods are merged into about half so the game runs smoothly with no problems at all. It's just this facial problem. Yes, the face geometry is broken on a new game. All the presets, even the vanilla ones, make the women look super ugly. I suppose I will have to reinstall my data directory mod by mod.
BurgerBum Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 sorry if i missed some note about this, or am being complete and utter noob, but in some of the screenshots it looks like you're not using SkyUI. xP i know not running it will render some mods just script bloat or break them, and some even game breaking. unless you've just disabled the visual aspects of it, or are using like a custom skin for it. IDK. like i said sorry if this doesnt help or if im being noob there. i just know i installed my SkyUI a little wonkily and body slide didnt work right AT ALL. (then i later realized im using a custom race thats incompatible to my knowlege and it didnt matter anyway cause i liked the default body) AAANNNYBUTT.

vram1974 Posted June 14, 2015 Author Posted June 14, 2015 Ok so I did a completely new install of Skyrim and used Mod Organizer instead of Nexus Mod Manager to install the basics. I deleted and redownloaded my entire Skyrim directory. I deleted my appdata from Skyrim. I thought I did everything. But the presets are still broken and the women are still ugly. Here is a new install with my old save game and using only an ENB and Fair Skin Textures. I'm loading the Charlotte Wessels preset and although I don't have the hair mod installed you can see it still looks absolutely nothing like it should: If I go into my regular racemenu presets it's even worse. The features are messed up. Look at the same overly pursed tight lips, the man sized jaw, the broken nose, the blocky features. It's so horrible. I don't know how this even happened. I've been modding Skyrim for 8 months now and I've never had so many ugly women in my game. I'm going to follow Anatriax's guide and see what I come up. Report back later.

Although it was painful reinstalling everything I think I've come out way ahead with all I learned from the process. And the females are now fixed! I have a lot of tweaking to do still but I'm very pleased. NSFW If I could add a suggestion to the guide, it would be to add "Bumps" to the Sporty and Sweaty normal maps and you get the best of both worlds.
