ther1pper Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 When i load my saves, skyrim will crash unless i pick another save thats not the first one, as well as a few others, i wanna figure out why that happens, here is my load order.
RedMonika Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Dont you need the Unofficial Skyrim patch? I see the those for the DLCs but not for Skyrim. So, Skyrim won't crash with a save or one other but will if you choose your first? Where is your first save located?

So, Skyrim won't crash with a save or one other but will if you choose your first? Where is your first save located? 3rd one down on the image furthest to the left. That's A LOT of plugins, too. Save Game Script Scalpel doesn't actually do much, and can actually DECREASE stability, by removing scripts that OTHER scripts have become dependant on over the course of your save. SGSS will see it as safe to remove, but deep down, other scripts may or may not have become dependent on it's functions. Your best bet, and I hate to say it, is probably to uninstall and start over. There are A LOT of SexLab mods that I see there. MOST of which are heavy scripting mods. I suggest making the hop over to Mod Organizer, so you can set up a profile for actual play throughs, and a profile for sexy fun time. That way, your hard worked hours don't become corrupt with bad scripting late in your game. Which will happen with all of those sex mods running, and OBIS, and UFO... I really don't need to keep going on. Use AFT instead of UFO. Same thing. Still supported. More stable. Switch from CoT to Pure Weather. Less scripting involved. (it uses and improves on Vanilla weather systems, instead of adding a whole bunch through scripting) Learn how to properly merge plugins and reduce your load order. (ie: put as many outfits as you can into each .esp. Combine ELFX into one .esp. That kind of stuff). Learning what plugins you can, and cannot merge takes time and patience, but can help your game in the long run, because you don't have so long of a load order. Again, switch to Mod Organizer. Unpack your official high rez .bsa files into loose files, and get rid of those .esp files. They're empty and uselessly clogging up your load order. Followers (Vanilla or added) cause crashes. Why? Because even with UFO or AFT, they're retarded. They'll chase a mob 15 cells away, which means those have to be loaded, which means scripts are running in those cells, which means you're going to run out of RAM. I'll say it again. Trim down your mod list and switch to Mod Organizer. If you want, follow my guide for a list of suggested mods and how to install them properly with MO. Follow ALL NINE phases. THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT. The first 3 phases will take care of a lot of your stability issues before you even really start adding mods. After phase 5 is completed, add a mod, test to make sure it works. Add another mod, test to make sure it works. NEVER add batches of mods without making sure they work, unless you're following a guide that says "hey, it's cool to add all of these mods before you test to make sure it's working." Good luck. I hope my tips help.
Swissenergy Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 If you're crashing when first trying to load saves usually it's because you've got too many script heavy mods trying to load at once in too large a cell. Loading a small cell with few or no other actors can work, or at the main menu screen open the console and type: coc qasmoke This will take you to a test cell where from there you should be able to load other saves without any issues. If you're crashing while loading saves in game, this can be caused by not having v3.2.2 of RaceMenu when using v2.70+ of XMPSE, other causes and possible fixes have already been stated above so try and see if anything here helps you.

Cold Boot Loading from a save and then crashing is pretty much a sign of a couple of things. With this load order, I'll say its very likely scripts are failing to get set up. The other could just be a failure to load a cell that contains a lot of actors and or a lot of area cold from jump street very possible with so many graphics changes. ------ This set up looks script intense to me. SkyTest for one has many different versions and all the ESP's named the same, if its the original with scripts its not going to work with this set up. You'll find that these mods are also intense... Wet n Cold Frostfall DSR Equipment Overhaul Armed to the Teeth Bathing Suite Skytest Arroused Chesko Lantern OBIS <---if you enable its mcm options, otherwise it just changes up bandits. There's a more extensive list to watch out for in Sexlab SexSlaves Anyway when your starting to get into some big load orders like you are currently you gotta start upgrading your tool kit. Use Mod Organizer TesVedit WyreBash TesVedit Xedit Script Those are the real tools you need to get gud on for hardcore load orders

I did switch from CoT to PW, and excuse my language but HOLY SHIT ITS DARK. Its so realiscially dark i have to use my night vision for once, i love it, thanks for the recommendation. I will try to change some things, been trying to find mods i don't use at all. Also i don't know if i have certain programs to combine esps or even open them, i can open zip files but that's it.
Gameplayer Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 TesVedit And Xedit Both have easy to follow You Tube videos on the Nexus Main description page for those tools. Should be enough to get you started.
Mud Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Take this with a grain of salt, as I'm not entirely sure I'm remembering right, but I think I read that, while some mods can sometimes cause such a problem, Skyrim simply has a tendency to do this once you've got more scripted mods installed, so it's not really worth trying to find a specific cause as that'd mean the culprit is actually just the fact that you're using a lot of mods. I got in the habit of simply creating a starter save with the console command save start at the beginning of a new file, when I've got all my MCMs set up. I just boot up the game, type in load start, and then load my current save from there. Doesn't take too long, since I haven't accumulated much data, all the initial startup mods have done their thing, and I'm in an interior cell.

TESVEdit and xEdit are the same thing, guy. "x" just denotes what game it's specified for. I think the "xEdit" you're talking about in your original reply when you say "TesVedit xedit script" Is the "xEdit Merge Plugins Script". In which case, a simple Youtube Video won't explain the intricacies of how to use this script properly, it's better to get the info from STEP. OP: Just start over and follow my guide, then. If you like the difficulty of that, you'll like the direction my guide takes. Yes. It is a VERY beautiful world that I set up. It is also VERY unforgiving. (I play on Legendary, btw. I don't screw around)
Veladarius Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 With a large number of scripted mods the likelihood of crashing on load, happens to me constantly. I think the issue is, in my opinion, it is a combination of having a number of scripts caught in the middle of doing something and other scripts initializing. Typically I just load a save from just after making my character then load the one I want to actually play. I can occasionally load a save that was done automatically when entering a new location, typically there are fewer things going on at that point. I have about 250 esm/esp's currently active with a number of those being sets of merged mods.
