halieslade Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I was doing so well for so long. After a difficult struggle getting all my mods to cooperate and my game to not crash, I was sailing along fine for a couple of months. I even got brave enough to try a few new mods, like Maria Eden. Then I decided to go back to a more-vanilla load order, without Maria. I only run TDF Aggressive right now, along with Defeat and Submit. My game runs perfectly as far as it goes. I wanted to play a pure mage for a while without worrying about being a whore or a slave. But ever since I updated to the newer FNIS 5.4.2 and Creature Pack 5.3, I can't get creatures to function sexually. My PC will do all the humping and moaning, but the creature just stands there enjoying the view without actually moving. Wolves and Trolls even have their equipment, but they're not actually using it. I struggled looking for clues for the past few days. Checked all my mods to make sure I had creatures enabled. Ran all the usual LOOT, Wrye Bash, etc, tools. Then ran Generate FNIS For Users, just like I always have. Right? Here's the message I see in the FNIS window: All Anim Lists scanned. Generating Behavior Files ...No GENDER directory Animations\male\ 18 GENDER modifications for Animations\female\Creature Pack not installedmt_behavior usage: 18.2 % ( 26 furniture, 29 offset, 0 alternate animations) 2147 animations for 11 mods successfully included (character) So, no wonder my animals aren't doing the horizontal mambo! But none of the links I found via Google have helped much. I tried dropping back a version but for some reason I must have deleted the older Creature Pack in my backup folder. My oldest FNIS looks like 5.2. I don't know if that makes a difference, but I no longer have a "matched set" of FNIS and Creature Pack. Fore has removed the older files from his Nexus page. Have you guys had a problem with the new FNIS? Do you know if dropping back a version on each would help, and if so where I can find older copies? If I stick with 5.4.2 and the 5.3 Creature pack, is there a bug I'm not aware of?

fore Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Creature Pack not installed You ever wondered what that could mean? And even more: could cause?
halieslade Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Creature Pack not installed You ever wondered what that could mean? And even more: could cause? Sarcasm noted. The first thing I checked was whether the creature pack was, in fact, installed. I'm using MO so it's in the virtual folder created by MO. If it's in those folders because MO installed it there, and FNIS still doesn't see it, what then? http://www.loverslab.com/topic/47216-fnis-error9-index-was-outside-the-bounds-of-the-array/?p=1201837 5.5 will be very welcome. However, I've run GenerateFNISForUsers almost a dozen times and the message is still there.
germanicus Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 However, I've run GenerateFNISForUsers almost a dozen times and the message is still there. Hmmm, that's strange since I and many others in the similar thread as your had the "error" message only once, on the first run. After that, the message never showed up again.
Monoman1 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 If you pressed the Uninstall creatures button in FNIS at some point you will need to do a full reinstall of fnis itself to get the creatures loaded again.
halieslade Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 However, I've run GenerateFNISForUsers almost a dozen times and the message is still there. Hmmm, that's strange since I and many others in the similar thread as your had the "error" message only once, on the first run. After that, the message never showed up again. Well that was what I was hoping for anyway What puzzles me is that, running from within MO, I've gone through several iterations of FNIS over the past year and installed them all the same way: Access the .7z file from the MO "INstall" icon, move it in my mod order to where it should be (after skeleton, Jcontainers, the DLCs & patches and Zaz), run LOOT and then FNIS. Yet, this is the first time I've encountered this particular bugaboo. Still messing with it and I'm not entirely convinced that it's nobody's fault but my own. I just need to figure out how to fix it. Edit: Even though clicking "De-Install Creatures" never did solve the problem, I went into MO's virtual folders, found the \actors\behavior folder and deleted everything. RE-ran FNIS and now it finds the creature pack, but I'm getting the time-honored and worn-out "ERROR(53): Could not find file "\dlc02\benthiclurker\behaviors\benthiclurkerbehavior.hkx'." But at least the "Creature Pack Not Loaded" message is gone. If you pressed the Uninstall creatures button in FNIS at some point you will need to do a full reinstall of fnis itself to get the creatures loaded again. Is this true? It's been my experience that the button only removes the creature behaviors files, and running FNIS again will reinstall them.

I truly wish I can help you but I'm incapable. I remember my struggling with installation of FNIS through MO. Maaan, took me two days to learn proper installation even with video tutorials and very helpful people from this community. Somehow a managed to install it but can't remember how. Beginners luck, I guess. LOL. Wish you luck.
Monoman1 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Have you tried deleting fnis files from MOs overwrite folder ? Mod Organizer\overwrite\meshes\actors\character behaviours characters characters female Delete those 3 folders and try running fnis again

Mod Organizer\overwrite\meshes\actors\character behaviours characters characters female Delete those 3 folders and try running fnis again That at least gets past the "Creature Pack Not Installed" message, but I'm still getting the warning message about benethiclurker behaviors. And if I ignore it and start my game anyway, I get the pop-up that FNIS was not installed. (Yes it was installed, it just didn't complete the generation process). Why can't there be a simple solution for all of these error messages? EDIT: So many times in these "help me with FNIS" threads I've read around the internet, I see "I'm not sure what I did, but it started working". So I completely removed FNIS (I was using 5.2) and installed 5.4.2. Re-ran it and now it decides to start working. So I'll say what so many others who have had these problems have said, "I'm not sure what I did, but it started working". What would be great would be one super-thread that includes definitive instructions for chasing down these errors. Even after I watched several Youtube videos and read Fore's specific instructions for proper installation, I still had this issue -- maybe part of the problem is that there are an almost infinite number of variations for mod combinations and load orders that it's not possible to give one clear answer? I'm left feeling a little unsatisfied because I'm not convinced that re-installing 5.4.2 was the answer -- the problem began while I was using 5.4.2 in the first place. Who knows. I guess it works, now, but we'll see what happens as I explore Labyrinthian today and start molesting all those trolls
Monoman1 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Ok maybe remove both fnis and creature pack from MO and delete those folders again. Then redownload and reinstall fnis and the creature pack
Suludi Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Download and install FNIS and FNIS Creatures manually, not via MO or NMM.
Monoman1 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Shouldnt matter which. MO is the most convenient as it populates info about version of the mod and a handy right click link to the nexus for it too. Edit: Wait. You're not using MO and NMM are you ? That would not be a great idea I think. Stick to MO in my opinion.
halieslade Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Download and install FNIS and FNIS Creatures manually, not via MO or NMM. That makes no sense. MO places all mods in its own Virtual folders. I'm not going to manually create my own folders inside of MO's tree just for this. Besides, FNIS worked flawlessly for me for the past year, before the last update. And I have ALWAYS installed FNIS inside of MO. Shouldnt matter which. MO is the most convenient as it populates info about version of the mod and a handy right click link to the nexus for it too. Edit: Wait. You're not using MO and NMM are you ? That would not be a great idea I think. Stick to MO in my opinion. Why would anyone want to use both? MO is far more powerful and flexible than NMM ever was.

I guess it works, now, but we'll see what happens as I explore Labyrinthian today and start molesting all those trolls FNIS and the Creature Pack installation is soooo easy ........ until you start with MO. My stance vs. MO is clear. I DO NOT recommend MO. I WAS a supporter in the beginning. But in almost 2 years it was not possible to fix the MO file management bug(s) which cause all those FNIS errors 53, 2012, 2023 and others. And probably is the cause of you benthiclurker issue. Because of all these issues I'm not going to use MO any more, and I'm not giving any MO related support. However, the Creature Pack not installed was definitely on your side. Which way you ever install, the creature pack has to be visible from the generator. More precisely, the files GenerateFNISforUsers.exe and BehavioredObjects.txt have to be in the same folder, considering all profile visibility rules.
halieslade Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Thanks for all you do, Fore. Your work is very much appreciated. Turns out my last problem was in load order. I managed to get rid of the error messages through removal/reinstallation and by "De-Install Creatures", then running FNIS a couple more times. Of course, now I have the final issue of getting creature animations + my animations to work together Before this, I would animate but the creature would not. I think that problem is fixable, too, if I just fiddle with load order and priorities enough. NMM is such a weak sister to MO, in my view, that even if it has major issues I will never abandon it. I like the flexibility I get with MO with having multiple profiles. Here's hoping to see your great work in Fallout 4 sometime in the near future, Fore!

I'm suggesting this because I've had it happen to me that one FNIS folder ended up completely empty in my directory. I have no idea why but installing both FNIS and FNIS Creatures manually always helped me out there. But I'm glad to hear you solved your problem. Changing the load order would have been my next suggestion.
