Skyrim on Windows 10??

I went back to 7 from 10 because my framerate made the game completely unplayable.  I'm using an $1800 IBuyPower laptop.....anyone have any ideas?  Because I really liked a lot of the features on Win10.....

I made sure that the xbox app wasn't recording in the background, but I couldn't find anything else that would possibly make it run like shit.....

I don't normally say this, but can someone please give me some ideas?  And has anyone else experienced these issues?

Upgraded over the weekend, only issue was that enb .279 crashed skyrim before it even got to the main menu. .272 works fine.

is there any real reason to upgrade to windows 10?

It's new and shiny and sends all your darkest secrets to Microsoft.

Only downside to Windows 10, that I found so far, is how older games get fubar during installation if you have a 3rd party AV turned on. Also kind of un-nerving that I started to get ads on websites and in my ms email for space stuff after installing distant worlds: universe.

We can't say how a "WIn 10 that is 1-2years old and tons of stuff done and installed" works.

Win 10 will probably be faster just because it isn't cluttered yet.

Main PC not upgraded yet, but my shitty old Laptop performs better.

And yes, disable cortana and other "Data-miner" options, some are crazy even for "optimizing" (google is your friend).

UPDATE:  After a ton of searching, here's how I fixed my issue.  I run an Nvidia GeForce GTX 870M.  This may be the issue if you run any Nvidia card though.  Something caused an issue with my having V-Sync enabled.  I needed to go into the Nvidia control panel under 'Manage 3D settings', and turn off the Vertical Sync option which was set by default to 'Use the 3D Application Setting'

After I did this, my Skyrim loaded quickly and smoothly with all 112 mods running.  The game was also lag free.  If you have any further questions or comments, I'll be checking back to this thread every now and again.
