That horrible, no-good, very bad error pops up whenever I try to download something from here. I've combed through the forums in search of an answer and have tried the various suggestions. And yet, I am still plagued by the sight of Failed_Error.png   every time I try to download something. The only file I am currently after is  Beeing Female and yet no matter how many times I try it gets to the 28.2 megabytes before kaputzing on me. Usually if there is a mirror source I can at least get my phone to download the file. (Which I then transfer to my computer and etc..)

99% of the time that is caused by your virus scanner.  However since you don't provide us with the slightest bit of info other than "it doesn't work" we can't do crap to help.

Sorry about that, hopefully this will help some:

Computer: Acer Aspire V5

System: Windows 8

Firewall: Here's the tricky thing. I had SpywareClear for a bit and then uninstalled it a few days ago. This caused the computer to revert back on an expired McAfee subscription that came with the computer. It controls the Firewall itself (I think) but isn't active. Does that make any sense?

Browser: Mozilla Firefox

I've had the same problem before with this site, and other sites. I don't think it's necessarily a site problem, though, maybe a server problem. I used to think it was a browser issue, but different browsers often do the same thing. Often, it fixes itself after a while, but "while" in this case I've had take anywhere from a few hours up to a couple of weeks. I don't know why this happens... Chrome seems to cancel downloads halfway through and consider them finished, so when you open the archive it says "corrupt", while Firefox just cancels the downloads and eliminates the files (IIRC).

I wish I could help, but my only advice to you is try, try again. :(

Yep, it does, when any of the major antivirus providers, MacAfee, Symantec, Kaspersky, etc. are not paid for and expire, their firewalls start to "mysteriously" block a great deal of ports until the license is renewed. Use add/ remove programs to uninstall McAfee and download a decent free antivirus from Microsoft called Microsoft Security Essentials, it works pretty well and we have used it here on many computers that we have serviced and rarely get a complaint. http://www.microsoft.com/security

Then download and install Malewarebytes and run both Microsoft Security Essentials and Malewarebytes "Full Scans" and allow them to fix whatever is found. http://www.malwarebytes.org

Try it using another computer or if you don't have one, install a virtual machine and then try downloading from within the virtual machine.

Any idea for why my phone is unable to download even the smallest of files from here? I can download files bigger than Immersive Creatures from nexus, on my phone... so I know it's not a matter of file type/ability.

Not sure, I will check in a moment... in the mean time here's another problem that is now popping up on both devices...

Untrusted.png

That one was covered in another thread that I don't feel like linking to.  Mainly has to do with the ads.  Some of them bypass ad blockers, I just hit refresh and they generally go away, but yeah.

This whole thing is just frustrating as hell.

Not using a proxy.

I've done exactly as suggested.... ugh

Although, I would like to thank you guys for your assistance thus far. So... any ideas about the phone thing?

Depending on your type of  cell phone and the service provider, getting that message means the sites "certificate" is not trusted by your cell phone browser, I would try to download another browser compatible with your cell phone and service. If this does not work then it would seem your cell phone service is the issue and I would call them and have them "unblock" this site.

Cell packets do not have the same security setting and throughput that a standard TCP/IP packet has, this could also be the issue, check cell phone signal strength as well if under 70 percent, that could be a problem, wireless and cell signals must be over 70 % in order to maintain a connection good enough to perform file transfers.
