Rain in Skyrim

So I've been wondering for quite some time now. Is there a mod that makes the cloud pour real rain? In case some don't know what I'm talking about, here is what the author of Real Shelter said in the description regarding Skyrim's rain:

Skyrim's precipitation is an illusion - a flat shader filling the observer's field of view. It's like wearing glasses with an animated rain overlay on the lens. So the rain doesn't really exist in Skyrim's world - and this is why it falls through everything.

Anyone has any ideas?

It would have to be hooked into the Havok engine so that it could collide with objects. I think that would be too performance intensive and would require so much work to add collision to trees, plants, etc. that it wouldn't be worth it. Just get higher res raindrops and be happy.

Splash of rain just adds rain splashes on the ground, but they have some sort of system so that the splashes don't occur under shelter. Doesn't help with the rain itself at all.

No, there's nothing.

I think most games approach rain the same way skyrim did.

Maybe newer games currently coming out like shadow of mordor used 3d particle effects to simulate rain instead of a flat shader overlay but that's about it.

Thanks for the conformation guys. I guess I'll stick with Splash of Rain and I'll see if Wet & Cold does not conflict in anyway with my mods.

Oh, one thing I should mention. From my tests with Real Shelter, when its effect kicks in, i.e. standing in a shelter, you can see real rain in front of you. It does not extend for more than few yards in front you though.
