I have skyrim on my main computer and there it works perfectly, but then i copied it to my laptop where i for some reason can't play as a female. everything else works just fine, exept when i try changing my gender to female in the race menu. i looked around and everywhere people are saying apachii sky hair is the problem, so i uninstalled it, but it still CTD's when i try to create a female(or change my gender). anyone know how to fix this?

tl:dr: CTD when i try to make a female char, apachii ain't the problem

mmmmmm........Try it as a full install, instead of a copy.  2nd troubleshooting question did FNIS and SKSE also get moved over?   Was all the Data folders needed moved over as well?

Not much info given in the post except Apachii is not the problem.

Groovtama gives even better answer than I can.

Second thought...  Look at the Load Order and adjust as needed.  LOOT and MO will assist well in that area.

used loot, mod manager also reports no load order problems

With the laptop, there can be issues I don't have the knowledge with, Not owning one but will try to think that way for a minute.   1st I think of memory and resolution of the graphics card - try lowering resolution in default starter.  2nd was the only race used Nord or did you try changing races and let them unpack, before switching to female?  I have had this problem with Temptress on several of my re-installs.

That is the basics I can think of in just 1 min, outside of slowly re-adding the Textures needed by the mods, Windows can be a pain at times.

i have tried puttin all resolutions and graphics at the lowest possible setting.

tried changing races, and the only ones that work are kahjiit and argonian.

#1 When you just copy everything over, you don't get the registry entries that you need in order for parts of Skyrim to have the path available.

I did this and had trouble. Ended up backing up the data folder and having Steam varify cache. You *might* need to just back up your data folder and move it out of the way and go on Steam and tell it to reinstall. That should create all of the registry entries.

Exactly which skeleton are you using? version number... is it the 1.9LE version? Make CERTAIN that it's where it's supposed to be AND..... guess what... you changed skeletons, so I think you need to run FNIS. Does FNIS run without errors?

It sounds real convenient to just copy stuff over, but honestly, having done this TWICE now, I can tell you that it's easier to install clean on the laptop and make sure it runs VANILLA Skyrim first, and then you can start copying crap into the data folder and screwing it up all over again :)

I ended up MOVING my Steam install to C:\Games\Steam\etc, etc, etc and getting it OUT of the Program Files (x86) folder, THEN I installed Mod Organizer. Now I can keep a completely vanilla profile and then copy it and build on it to create special profiles. If a PROFILE gets screwed up, I still have a completely clean vanilla install to use to build another profile. SOOoooooo much easier.

i'm using the 2.33.7 version of the skeleton, should i be using the 1.9LE version instead? the skeleton is where it's supposed to be, checked multiple times. i have ran FNIS many times since i discovered the problem. FNIS reports 1 error.

Since everything else works perfectly i asumed that the problem wasn't from copying. i did however make sure everything had the right filepath, for exampel the SKSE shortcut in MO

Did the /Documents/MyGames/Skyrim also get copied correctly, with all the folders inside?  I forget that alot, unless a new set of CTD's happen.  The log may present issues, if set up correctly.  Might have to deactivate/activate mods slowly to see what is causing the CTD.  With the error in FNIS is the "SKELETON Arm Fix" activated?

I personally am not good with using MO.  So will step back, as more experienced have better advice with MO involved.

the error is most lickely caused by the skeleton, as i still get it without any mods active. with skeleton arm fix and gender animations i get 1 error, with only gender animations i get 2

Just a warning for anyone reading this who doesn't know it already ---

Any time you verify the cache using Steam the VERY NEXT STEP should always be to reinstall SKSE because it will be broken and any mod using the SKSE extensions could give unexpected results.

If you can create a male character but it crashes when you change to female it is very likely to be the skeleton, reinstall it (won't hurt anything to reinstall it) as something else may have overwritten it.
