I couldn't explain why, but somehow, everything I see regarding The Force Awakens just feels... right. Like it has some element to it that makes it really look and feel like Star Wars, something the prequel trilogy lacked.

This shit happened when Lucas sold it to Disney. They basically dumped the entire Expanded Universe..books, comics, games..all of it. Revan, Kyle Katarn, Admiral Thrawn etc. ..officially never happened...or they are at least part of the "Legends" brand.

They should have at least kep the "Old Republic" stuff canonical since ot doesn't interfere with the crappy I-III and the great IV-VI movies.

Revan was/is such a cool and loved character.

For all we know, Episode 7 could make Revan canon. They could say that the new villain took inspiration from the legendary figure of the old republic or something like that.
