Mewwt Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 How heavy are the scripts? When I was reading through the perk descriptions, it sure sounded like they would require scripts. Example: Agility (40/75) 1- While wearing light armor legguards, for three second after initiating a sprint incoming ranged weapon attacks deal no damage. 2- While wearing light armor legguards and sprinting incoming ranged weapon attacks deal no damage. That makes me think a script needs to be kicked off every time you hit the sprint key. Probably a shit ton of scripts, but I barely felt any perfomance issues, and my computer isn't good even by far.

In terms of scripts, PerMa, has a lot less I believe. You also have to think that T3nd0 has a lot more experience with mod-making so he's probably much better at making more efficient scripts and calls for them. I haven't seen any performance issues, PerMa runs like a charm so far for me other than the mods that aren't YET supported by the patcher.

Other simpler mods hit my perfomance really hard, but neither skyre or perma did anything. Now a question which I wish you could answer better than that lovely other site called nexus: why is that I don't get any feature like potions healing over time or bladed weapons doing bleeding damage? I ran the patcher twice already, but didn't fix it.
Ashra XIII Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I am playing a mage, which is something I don't often do, and I think the spells PerMa puts in are pretty good... I think I like them a bit better than Apocalypse Magic, in fact. I'm still pretty low level, so the balance aspect can go horribly wrong once I reach the next tier of enemies or some such, but right now I'm finding it to be pretty fun. I'm wondering something. I've been using Apocalypse in conjunction with PerMa so far. Are they not supposed to be used together? I've been an Apoclypse fan for a while and it went nicely with SkyRe, I just assumed it would compliment PerMa as well. So far I've found pretty much no mention of it myself, but maybe I'm just not looking that hard. As started above, you can use Apocalypse Magic with Perkus Maximus, but while I have been a fan of Apocalypse for quite some time, I wanted my first experience with PerMa to be 'pure' I guess you could say, to see how the mod handled things without it being muddled with other mods so that if something was weird, I'd be able to tell what was causing it. I also just wanted to see what all PerMa brought to the table. So I disabled mods that I otherwise enjoy like Deadly Combat and Apocalypse, and I've found I actually like the way PerMa handles these aspects of the game itself to the point where I don't even miss those other mods; combat is fast and deadly, the spells are varied and interesting, and while some of the perks would seem to use scripts, it's made up for by the fact that I've eliminated lots of scripts by removing all those other mods I used to use. So it more than balances! I still have a few bugs, like sometimes the sound effects for my fire spells will play continuously until I save/reload, and two-handed axes have lots of garbage characters in their names for some reason. For issues in terms of preference, I think my only complaint is the enchantment mod that PerMa adds in by default... it does add lots of cool stuff, but some of the enchantments try so hard to be different that they become a little silly, like a necklace that gives the user 10 gold per day, or a sword that causes a damage over time effect for 12 seconds, but does nothing for the first half of that. WTF? Overall, my impressions have been way more positive than I thought they would be when I first read up on PerMa post-release.
Crate123 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I really like PerMa so far, IMO its better than SkyRe IF you use the parts from SkyRe you like or use other combat overhaul mods (gods know that basic skyrim combat is less than fulfilling). Yes the patcher is a pain but aside from having to change 2048 to 1024 in the bat file I have had 0 issues with it. It takes a long time but it is much more thorough than the old Skyproc patcher was and catches some of the mods that the other one didnt.

You can disable Wyntermist enchantments, if you don't like all those new ones.
Karin Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Another complain is few perks dont work. And they was looking nice. And patcher change many gustom armor on heavy o.O Although I can see where many people are coming from especially issues with the patcher. My first response is... do you even have an updated java? most people don't update their java so they're probably running an old an outdated version. And if they have issues with memory running out during the patch, SUM is a great program for patchers to assign more memory. Dual Sheath Redux Reproccer Perma All can be used with SUM. Played while and its not bad. Problem are patching time. Its take me 2 hour o.O I have newest version of Java. I only have bashed patch and perma reprocer so I dont tryed SUM but I can try it next time. You need new version and run it again.
roykupzz12 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 any idea where someone can go to get a mod that makes the weapon of perma do more damage i mean 10 arrows to kill anything and 5 to kill a deer? come on. you can edit a lot of stuff to your liking by editing the patcher's XML files. to edit arrows, open up the Ammunition.xml and change the base damage values of things to your preference. then patch it again and there you go, the arrows are stronger.
LaEspada Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 I have newest version of Java. I only have bashed patch and perma reprocer so I dont tryed SUM but I can try it next time. And make sure you have all old versions of java uninstalled, they can cause issues when installed with a newer one istalled with it.
roykupzz12 Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 anybody here have problems with the monkey grip and snatch perks? i can't seem to get them to work....

temporaryaccount2 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I can't seem to get around the null error. I removed java, installed jre 7, un-checked every mod in MO except PerMa and tried running the patcher and I still get the error. I tried with 32 and 64 bit versions of java. Help please.

temporaryaccount2 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I tried with java 7/8 32/64 bit versions. How do I "use" boss? Should I download the .exe version and run it instead of trying to run it through MO?

roykupzz12 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Hello guys, i get a nullpointer error and i wanted to ask if theres a mod in my load order that is known for causing trouble with PerMa. sadly i dont know how to make a spoiler in this forum and when i tried to post it without one i got the error that im not allowed to post links so i had to upload a file... i see you didnt uninstall skyRe.
weird Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I had the nullpointer error. Removing mods from the load order did nothing. I fixed the error by cleaning the Patchus Maximus files by reinstalling it. I've found that some mods caused the patcher to throw up, and removing them after that did not solve it. Had to clean it (thanks Mod Organizer, reinstall do wonders), add the mods to the blocklist and patch again. Very weird, because that happened only once, most of the time i just had to blocklist the mod. ps: the blocklist is a txt file inside the patcher folder, just open it and add the mods name, one at each line, no need to remove the mods.
Cybermann Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Kean to try this mod but stuck with this problem Installed it ran patcher all OK started new character played for a bit all seemed ok. Quit out of game. Any time I attempt to load a savegames immediate CTD. Ran Loot and Tes5Edit plugins appear to be in correct LO. BTW using MO for this put followed gamerPoets instructions to instal PeMa. Just Checking Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 How can i reset talents ? I so far haven't seen any new mechanic to reset your perks and such. The only way I know if to do that is either make a skill legendary, refunding its perks and reducing it to 15 in the process, or finish the Dragonborn DLC main questline to get access to such a function in exchange for a number of dragon souls. I think that's it, at least, it's been so long since I did that questline I've probably muddled something up.
Suldra Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I am using it and I have mixed feelings about it. 1) I really wish people would just let Java die! It's not that good a language anymore; at least not for Windows machines or Mac's and to be truthful it actually runs shittier on every linux and Unix Machine I have used it on. It has huge security holes that make C# look rock solid and in all honesty its time has come to an end; and please, before you start quoting stats you need to understand...those stats do not take into account the practical application of Java programs (which in the real world are relatively non-existent). 2) It has a tendency to screw up your merchant inventories and can cause you to CTD while browsing a merchant. I have tried allocating more memory to the game but that does not seem to be the issue. It clearly has something to do with the way the patcher does its job. 3) The mod has a tendency to make some some monsters ridiculously strong and the rest a push over. Over all its not a bad mod.
plopyck Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Hello !I have a little question, it seems that with Perma, every health potion I have (Health lvl I-IV) only heal 1pv/s during 8s.Is it normal ? And if not what can I do to change that ? Because that's quite annoying, it's like not having any potion at all. And since I use this + Duel combat realism... make the game quite hard
yatol Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Hello ! I have a little question, it seems that with Perma, every health potion I have (Health lvl I-IV) only heal 1pv/s during 8s. dryuya Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Well I actually got a MO profile running with it now and have to say...I don't much like PerMa Speaking openly (and hoping he's not here to hear this) I wonder why the author even bothered? Skyre seemed to offer the same but had more positive aspects to it. A working respec potion, uncapped skills, and most important the mere fact that it's been in existence longer and so by virtue has more running compatibilities with other mods than a whole new creation will. Making this rather than just making updates to the existing skyre structure seems like taking a step back in general terms of getting mods harmonized for the community. Not that the author is obligated to care in any way but I sense some serious hostilities are going to arise between him and the community if this is his new baby and everyone else (as the nexus hot files suggest) is still hoping for support or updates to Skyre. And those fluff descriptions...ugh. I can't be convinced there's any benefit to them for anyone who's actually playing with any role playing/character building intent. His solution is to offer a PDF document file which as anyone knows is completely impractical, annoying and inconvenient to do while playing. Luckily another guy made a de fluffing mod which fixes most of the descriptions in game.
