The Doctor is said to be somewhat of a legend. There are claims that he can break the will of a prisoner with just one look' date=' and that he's quite the devious mindbender. We shall see.

[/quote']

/me bows

He's having a little trouble with his Radiant Quests right now, but he'll be along just as soon as he can.

BTW: Love the new look but, if I may, I though the previous one worked rather better in context. Elegant, slightly sinister and with a formality entirely befitting the role. Just my opinion, of course :)

Agreed. However, this new look reminds me for some reason of a vampire yacht club or something.

You know, after posting the screenshots last night, I got to thinking the same thing. Her old look just seemed..... darker. So I split out her saves, and made the new look an entirely separate, new character.

So the darker Mjana is back:

Most likely to stay this time :P

So.....

The Doctor apparently stopped by the palace today. And he wasn't very happy with the mess the guards made of his chamber trying to "adjust" the attitudes of some of the new arrivals:

Docvisit.jpg

And now we know how the guards handle the mouthy ones:

Mouthy1.jpg

Unlucky.jpg

so it's probably advisable to watch your tongue with them :dodgy:

Luckily for this extra mouthy Argonian, the Doc stopped by at just the right time:

Mouthy2.jpg

She told me that she told the Doc off, but he simply winked at her and left, remarking that she'd learn..... inevitably ;) She didn't understand what that meant, and I couldn't bring myself to explain it to her

But rest assured, the Doctor still has plenty of work ahead of him when hes finished with his current business, and arrives at the palace permanently:

I hope this serves as a lesson to some of you up and coming Dovahkiin. Skyrim's underworld is not a very happy place. So keep a wary eye over your shoulder as you adventure across Tamriel. Because you never know who the Dark Brotherhood might be working for on any given night.......

Just wanted to let you all know what I've been up to most recently. But first, an introduction:

Meet Kjala....

Kjala.jpg

Kjala is Mjana's older half-breed, half-sister ;) Her story is pretty shocking, but it's a story for another time. Suffice to say, her past has hardened her to anything Skyrim can dish out. She'll be occasionally stepping in for Mjana, depending on what is currently worked on :)

That said, Kjala (at Mjana's request) has made a lot of progress with Renato:

KjalaandRenato.jpg

and she's "tamed" his wandering ways. As you can see here, she's convinced him to follow her "almost" everywhere. And he's currently starting out in Fallsview Lodge, but is having a bit of trouble making 2-way trips anywhere (I think it's a Navmesh issue). But when Kjala is finished "convincing him" to do as he's told (she's VERY persuasive), he'll start out (and return to) Redlight Palace.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Currently, I'm working out Navmesh pathing, advanced AI packages, and pre-planning the next cell. But when it's all hammered out, things will move MUCH more quickly, as I'll be able to include everything I've learned from the creation kit as I go, instead of figuring it out after areas are already completed.

As of right now, I suspect that any vanilla follower (Lydia, Iona, etc.) will enter Fallsview and The Menagerie. However, I think once they land in The Menagerie, they'll be stuck there. I'll be sure that it's ironed out before the next update.

For the past 2 days, Navmesh has been kicking my ass. But I think I finally have it sorted. I may have to change some doors (or at least move their markers) to get everything to blend, and for followers to transition from one area to the next and back. As soon as these issues are resolved, I'll update the .esp so you can check it out.

One last thing:

SuccubusMjana.jpg

What do you think of this look for Mjana? I'm sort of torn between the witch armor, and this Dark Lilith set :P

Posted

Well, Hellooooooooooo Kjala! :D

And if it was me, I'd stick with the evening gown look. Maybe roll out the Dark Lilith set for special occasions.

Posted

Been stalking this thread for a while :)

I like Mjana in the gown better' date=' probably put on the Dark Lilith when she's pissed off and looking to torture someone?

[/quote']

Hmm..... now that sounds..... fun LOL

So the original witch gown it is. And she'll pull out the Dark Lilith set for those very "special" occasions :P

With that decided, watch my first post for today's upcoming update :D

Where in skyrim is it located, I am having trouble finding it. I down loaded the esp. file for what you have done so far, but am unable to find it.

Run past Hillgrund's Tomb until you come to the uprooted tree that crosses the river in the middle of the falls. You should be able to see it on the far end before you cross.

Apparently, I have more navmesh work to do just outside of Fallsview. My surprise for the next update wouldn't leave the immediate vicinity of Fallsview, heading down toward Fort Amol, and kept running back inside until Kjala came back onto the porch. So be careful with your followers, as I think you'll need to path them up the trail toward Ivarstead.

But anyway, here's my little side-project, which will be available to you with my next update:

Lilith.jpg

Lilith1.jpg

Actually, she's not so little. But I hope you like her just the same. I suspect the guys likely will since I've been neglecting their "needs" in the follower department :P

And yes, she's the full package (except she will NOT marry you... unless you force her through the console. She's too wild to settle on just one lover :P ):

Lilith2.jpg

Notes:

You will need the Dark Lilith armor set available here on LL to put her in for the complete look. But you will find her in Fallsview when she's added. She's a leveled npc (starting at level 10), so she'll be good to go at any level.

I got the idea for her from this mod:

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8358 by LPabon, and used his esp to duplicate the race base for the Labyrinth in the creation kit. So I want to offer my thanks, and due credit to him for all his work.

That said, you DO NOT need to download the custom race linked above, as it is now a non-playable npc race in Mjana's Labyrinth.

This is NOT the final Lilith npc version. What I release will be MUCH more appealing, and hopefully won't require the armor add-on, as I hope to be able to build it into the Lilith NPC, at least as a pre-equipped default armor. Her AI still needs some work, but will be totally custom outside of the base (with custom dialogue if I can manage it :D ).

Keep your fingers crossed, and wish me luck! This is all new territory for me LOL

Just a small teaser for you :)

Meet Jewel:

Don't get too excited..... yet. This is an actual character I just made using the dremora race mod mentioned in my last post. And it's what I hope to achieve as the look for the follower I discussed above in Mjana's Labyrinth. If all goes well, I'll be able to edit the preset using a mix of npc editors, mods, and running it all through the creation kit.

I really like the name as well. I think it suits her ;)

So Jewel it will be :P

Glad you like it... and on that note' date=' a couple more pics before bed claims me:

Almost there. I just need to locate the exact hair mesh and texture I used to create the character shown in my earlier post, and replace the default dremora hair in the base game. I hope you like her skintone. I kind of prefer the chocolate tone myself, and can easily change it back if it proves to be more popular than the red.

JewelCompanion1.jpg

I had to take her from Fallsview the back way up the mountain toward Ivarstead (luckily, I loaded her up with a full complement of destruction spells, and the two wolves we encontered on the way are now crispy critters along that path :P ). She entered the inn at Ivarstead with no problems, and came back out normally. I then fast traveled with her to Whiterun, again with no issue. For all intents and purposes, she's acting like any vanilla follower :D

So now I know the problem is with the navmesh on the Fort Amol side of the lodge. I took a quick look, and it seems to be an issue of two separate meshes, that npcs can't navigate between. I may have to rework the meshes around Fallsview completely to provide overlap for npcs to navigate. The problem is the lodge placement (which I'm not going to move LOL), and the fact that I had to rebuild that whole area to accomodate the lodge facing the way I wanted it, which means that the navmesh is kinda far under everything around the lodge.

Since I made quick progress with her face morphs, AI, and spell loadout, once I sort the hair issue I may update the .esp again so you can all play with her before I add anything else. Maybe a day or two... hopefully. If anyone knows the exact filenames for the hair mesh/texture (or better yet, attach the files to a post here if you have 'em handy), it'd be a HUGE timesaver as I won't have to track it down with nifscope/gimp from the 150+ hairstyle meshes/textures I have on hand :P I can tell you it was a replacer, because two of the Labyrinth's npcs are using it as default.

TIA, Trykz ;)

Booyah!.....

JewelCompanion5.jpg

She laid waste to Fort Amol's occupants. I just stood there in awe. She's quite the badass, despite being only level 10 :P

JewelCompanion3.jpg

Her only drawback is, you CANNOT dismiss her anywhere but INSIDE FallsView. If you dismiss her outside, she gets attacked by everything hostile to dremora. Which is pretty much everything. Even FallsView's guards attacked her when I dismissed her near the stable to check her solo pathing back into the lodge. She's essential, so she can't be killed, but she'll be stuck in combat mode until you load a prior save to before you dismissed her. I'm looking into this, but I suspect I'd have to add every faction in the game to her AI, but I'll see what I can do.

I'll also need to add the hair mesh as a separate file (at least for now) for those who don't have the replacer hair installed. Don't worry, it won't replace ANY default hair, except that used by the game for the female dremora. I'll set up the file structure so you can simply merge the folders for the hair AND the .esp with your data directory.

I have a few things to fine-tune, but she should be ready to go by late tomorrow evening or Thursday morning, so I'll update the .esp in the first post before getting back to work on other stuff.

Oh, in case it wasn't obvious, the chocolate skintone won me over. The red just wouldn't grow on me :P

So...,

yesterday was a great day. I got a lot done with Jewel (I think I found a way to import the Dark Lilith armor set into her inventory to save the additional download requirement), and finalized plans for the next update. Everything was going great.

But that was yesterday. Today is a different story. I'm posting this from my backup laptop, because my main computer seems to be having some "issues" this morning. Don't worry, it's nothing I can't fix. But I've decided to push out the update to add Jewel to the current .esp for a few days to accommodate a full system restore (the very first since it was built). I've spent most of the morning prepping the system, backing up files, and transferring everything to a 2TB external drive (I'm creating the restore dvds as I write this). By days end, I should be able to have everything re-installed (including the 200+ mods I have :P ), and be back to work on the mod by tomorrow morning.

I don't anticipate any problems, but if I have any issues that will increase the delay, I'll let you know.

Don't rush yourself sweety, all that matters is you do what ya gotta do ^_^. I did have a question though, once this mod is complete will the npcs have different dialogues instead saying things like "huh?" "Do you need something?" etc...? and I noticed in the recent release instead of being shackled to the walls the prisoners were actually just standing, so was wondering if I need a mod for that?

Most of the npcs have either no AI, or very minimal/basic AI. I'm working on additional AI tweaks, as well as more detailed scripting option in accordance with npc roles in the mod. It's pretty complicated stuff, so it may not be added for a while.

But I have to ask.....

what makes you think this mod will ever truly be "finished" :P

My intent is (and always has been) for Mjana's Labyrinth to "evolve", much in the way that MMORPGs evolve by adding new content through expansions. Once most of the basic framework is in place, adding new stuff is the easy part. Build a cell, add in mobs/quest objectives/rewards, etc., add the more advanced templated stuff as it's being built, and then it's a simple .esp update to add a ton of new content much more quickly than an MMORPG ever could.

And along the way, I'm hoping other modders will jump in and add content they'd like to see as well, through doors/portals I'll be placing throughout The Menagerie. How this will ultimately evolve is anyone's guess. We shall see ;)
