So what about Japanese Mods?

With all those japanese pages and modders, I wonder if there are possibly some great mods out there I missed simply because the Japanese dont speak English very well and Non-Japanese dont speak Japanese!

 

If you take a look at those resources for example, there may be some great mods, beyond just the cloth textures, that go missing because nobody can read it and Google translate is rubbish for Japanese:

Actually scratch that part about being ripped off. It seems, judging by the picture, that the mod author is credited (maybe this is just a site with translated mods that we already know about), and it appears that the source of the mod is given as LL.

Yeah, eelog.jp is some image board. It has a mixed SFW/NSFW section on skyrim too with more stuff.

 

I saw this picture on skup.dip.jp and was wondering how they manage to NPC breast-PC body collision, maybe its some pose but still..?

I'm checking it now with google translate. It looks like it's only a picture blog with links to tutorials and nexus. From the first look it doesn't seem to host mods, so no worries.

I downloaded that one from the Nexus, and I don't even care that she speaks only Japanese; it's nice to imagine looking at someone, and just smiling because I have no idea what she is saying, and it's somewhat peaceful, despite her chatter.

yes, thats obviously a known mod (Sanguine Debauchery), but what about the rest that we cannot readily identify?

My thread is also  heavily geared towards some users with knowledge of the Japanese scene, so maybe they could tell us about developments over there.

when it comes to sex mods the practice between the old shy which evolved into skup has been you can translate and convert ours and well do yours. I know that this has likely gone out the fucking window with so much new blood in modding on both sides but I hope that this is not the case in itself as I miss the creative talents of the cn and jp mod communities and I hope to see some translated plugins in the future

Most of the files aren't full size but consists of localization/translation files that they can copy into the data folder.

 

Partly because Nexus has little support for foreign language speakers, some Japanese modders do have to release their works on personal blogs, Twitter or Tumblr.

 

Also, because of the language barrier, it's pretty hard to get permission from them to convert or peruse their unique mod resources for other mods.

The only reason I named this thread "Japanese Mods" is because I was under the impression that there was some kind of hidden treasure cove of undiscovered mods over in Japan. But if China is having undiscovered mods as well, then lets hear it! Basically, any place that increases the amount of available mods is a place worth visiting.

Well, actually have been wondering about that myself for quite a while now. It would be awesome to have an english page that presents the "latest hot stuff" from the japanese modding community. Or at least an english mod review show on youtube that showcases the best mods.

 

I have the impression that japanese mods are often centered around single assets - a single armor, weapon, and so on. So far I have never seen a "large scale" mod that really adds something new to the game (like Sexlab for example). However, that may be totally wrong and japanese players get to play with super-awesome stuff that we never even thought about. Let us be honest here: the language is an issue. But not only that. Also the way in which the japanese mod pages and forums (that I'm aware of) are set up is... well... not THAT appealing to me, it's rather confusing and hard to get an overview. Also, strange forum rules (you may not download until you have gained X reputation blabla) make it hard to get a hand on the japanese mods.

 

Or, maybe there is an english page or mod showcase show that I'm not aware of?

Sorry mate, didnt wanna blow smoke up your ass; I actually thought that apart from the English speaking parts of the net only Japan was harbouring some obscure modding community. I know China brought us HDT after all, so I guess its worth trying some new search words on the site. Anyway, my post was not ill intended. cheers
