AngerBear Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 I've been trying to get hkxcmd to work. No deal. I use Windows 7. I open cmd prompt. I set up the command pathing properly ... hkxcmd exportkf "skeleton" ... etc, and I get "No animations found...(whatever pathing)..." I have opened a new folder on desktop. Placed hkxcmd.exe within it as well as skeleton.hkx, and the animations folder--which I both deleted all animation folders except for male and deleted the file folder "male" and pasted all male animations directly into the animations folder so that the animations file tree is not ...animations/male/crap-ton hkx files, but is instead animations folder itself with crap-ton hkx files. Either way, the result is the same: No animations found..." I do have SDK in a rar, but I have no Idea where to extract the files to. Is that the issue? I want to convert hkx to kf so I can edit in blender. What to do? Hold my hand please, and walk me though it. Thanks.
Suludi Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 I always used this tutorial: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15238/? However, Ashal says it only works on Vanilla animations. Check out his thread: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/15293-arroks-sexlab-animations-resource-for-modders-updated-892014/?hl=%20arrok and scroll down to "Animation Tutorials and Resources". I hope this helps.
AngerBear Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 All of the tutorials say the same thing, so I follow the same steps, but still nada. Let me preface the following by saying I have, way back when, already exported Skyrim BSAs via FOMM. I have had access to the meshes folder containing animations files since the beginning. I also have SOS (Light BTW), which overwrites male animations--I assume or at least assume to remember. So that being said, I have copied the animations folder from: Data/meshes/actors/character/animations/male and pasted it into a folder on Desktop simply named New folder (7) <----remember that. I have also taken defaultmale.hkx from Data/meshes/actors/character/characters and placed it within New folder (7)<---remember that. Equally I have taken skeleton.hkx from Data/meshes/actors/character/character assets and placed it within New folder (7) <---uh, remember that. hkxcmd.exe is also in New folder (7). So basically, New folder (7) contains: animations folder, skeleton.hkx file, defaultmale.hkx file, as well as a folder named anim-out, and of course hkxcmd.exe. And here's what I do, step by fracking step: Click Start button in my Windows 7 Search cmd to open command prompt. I see: C: \Users\"my name here"> Then I type cd Desktop, which then looks like: C: \Users\"my name here"\Desktop Then I type cd New folder (7), which then looks like C: \Users\"my name here"\Desktop\New folder (7)> So I go on to hkxcmd: C: \Users\"my name here"\Desktop\New folder (7)>hxkcmd.exe exportkf "skeleton.hkx" "animations" "anim-out" Then I get "No animations found..." ...but now that I have taken the freakishly-long time to type this and kept referring back to the command prompt while doing so, I actually got it to work! lol. I'm still posting this beastly response. For fookers like me, keep an eye on the fracking space bar! Not too many spaces, and not too little. Type your shit precisely! Check out Suludi's links in this post for tutorials! So if you've read this far, sorry to waste your time. But maybe this rambling on will help other noobs like me. Thanks Suludi for your response! To everyone else, thanks for your time!
BringtheNoise Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 You could possible put the command into a text file and name it hkx.bat and place it in the folder with the other files and then run the bat file and watch the command prompt pop up which then runs the command and then it would probably stay open once it's finished unless you add a second line into the bat file to close the command prompt... but that might be to easy.
