Tested. Great mod, but this double-drawing is a bit annoying : c

And some tip: Use this mod with "Mystic Knight" animations from skyrimnexus, especialy sheathe one. It looks cool when character is spinning 

this sword before sheathe (just like Vergil did in dmc3).

This mod ... how can i describ it ... for me it's an awesome sword, i've searched for ... a really longtime but ... how can i say ...
I've tried to make it work properly (right now i'm at 3 week searching why i can't make it work properly).

One time, just ONE he work perfectly, without any trouble (simple draw, visible sword) but right now, after at last 25 installation, running BOSS, moving this mod to the last place... i'm exhausted... really

This mod is great, but can't work normally for everyone, i know that playing with "100X carry" mod, you can have some issues, but even without you've issues ... 

If someone know why this mod dosn't work normally, whit a normal installation ... thanks

Else for the "3 katanas mod", be carefull, you can have some issues too, like playing at 5 ips when you're smithing .. xD

i downloaded this mod, but for some reason it isn't working. i can't find the yamato anywhere, not even in console commands. I uninstalled and re-installed it 4 times now.. still now working :(

Hello everyone, I found a way to improve the script I think.   Indeed,  the asian modder Gorilla K  released a mod containing 3 Katana acting the same way as the Yamato, but their script dont bug at all. ( I dont know if linking the mod here is allowed, so feel free to delete my comment )

(If you download it to test it yourself, use the command "help Katana" to find the three elementals blades )

It add 3 Katana that you handle the same way at the Yamato,   the what is interesting here is the script,  no double animation to take the weapon, and no visual bug.

I dont know anything about scripting in the game or something like that, and as I can't read Foreing alphabets, talking asian languages  and the Modder seems to be inactive since the last year. I dont know if he gave the rights to use his files freely. ( as he dont look like taking care of Skyrim anymore, I can suppose that it will not pose any problems.)


If someone can edit the script to improve the Yamato with this , I'll kneel before him.


Feel free to yel at me of I did something wrong. ( But I really love the yamato, so I'll be so glad if I can help someone to improve it )

My friend, it seems you did a nice work, cheers! I also have one problem, the sword cannot be drawn correctly, it seems my character does hold a sword on her right hand, but actually she doesnt, and the sword is reversed on her left hand on the opposite side of scabard. Anyone else who had the same problem? Please, could someone provide a solution on that? Thanks a lot.

I did some tests, i had eqquiped a Fudyou Myou Katana, but after i disabled it along with other mods, the problem isn't mod based, it's 100% script based with visual problems and bugs, now i got the same thing as everyone here...an invisible sword XD i did try to do the last thing to place in the mod data files menu, but it still cannot work. 


Does anyone know what to do on here? Please, this mod seems perfect, it just needs some tweaks that i don't know about unfortunetly, if i knew, i would helped the modder with all my happiness to provide of being an assistant and useful. :/

IT WORKED!!! IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!! I'm not joking! This guys here really saved my life! His name is lardass2010 and what he mentioned on a post is :

great mod, now my character's addicted to using that weapon!! got invisible sword myself but fixed it. for those who got "invisible sword" and the sword won't draw: try open console, help"yamato"4, and see the "Yamato no scb" and try to use player.removeitem [yamato no scb's code] 1 until you got 0 of that remain, and the respawning of the yamato weapon should work just fine. its a shame I can't smith it or enchant it though. 



^ He is a real hero, the mod now plays perfect, only the double drawn thing exist, but that's not so bad, not bad at all, considering that we couldn't see the sword before. I already upvoted him, he deserves a medal for sharing his way with us. Thank you man, you are the best!!!

I just wish I could figure out how to edit the nicontrollermanager on the katana model properly. It's making the game crash. Would be nice if we could easilly change the weapon, since the scrips work so well :)

So, in 2015, someone finally managed to figure out the "invisible sword" bug.

 

The script was attached directly to the Player actor.

That's not how you do it.

Any mod that changes Player actor would override that.

 

As there's no source for the script used in the mod, I wrote my own version that works properly and won't conflict with most things I know. Sheath also works as shield now, alternatively I can make it into an off-hand weapon. The sword itself can be made enchantable and temperable (though I don't use neither), as the item itself stays the same. Forcing it into Torch-style animation would be best, but I don't really understand how Torch works. The script itself is attached to Unique Actor - Player reference alias of a new quest.

 

Bugs:

- Sheath in the left hand doesn't prevent you from equipping something in it - that simply removes the sheath. Redraw or reequip resets it.

- After loading a save it can take 1-2 seconds for the sword model to reset into proper state

- Script can (very unlikely) glitch out on intensive drawing/sheathing. Reequipping fixes that.

- Model showing in inventory is the current model - can be invisible. No way to fix that.

I don't think I have to include screenshots, it's all pretty self-explanatory. If someone will give me the permission or if poking dead things is allowed, I can hook up this mod's models or any other katana you can give me to the script and upload it.

I had to make a manual patch to carry over all changes to my player and it only works on new characters. I even tried the solutions suggested where I would remove the no scabbard version and get a new one to no avail. It is so frustrating. I do not want to have to make a new character just to use the sword.

this is retarded. why couldn't the author make it so you can dual wield it? for people getting the invisible sword put this shit last in ur load order. It's def cool that you get that animated string on the scabbard. But, I don't understand why the author couldn't make it so the scabbard stays on ur hips(back) while you're feely able to dual wield, or use magic, etc in the other hand. This makes this sword absolutely useless, it's just there for show.  


nice concept, but i don't like those animated things.. they looks more like huge worms :) can those be removed from model?

then just download the regular yamato sword at nexus.

Okay, easy fix for anyone who wants this animated mod, and wants a proper sword. Download this guy's link on his post, then download this mod. Install the mod that you downloaded from this guy's post, and switch out the yamato.nif from this mod. This will solve a broken sword, you can now dual wield, upgrade, and have a non invisible sword.

Okay, easy fix for anyone who wants this animated mod, and wants a proper sword. Download this guy's link on his post, then download this mod. Install the mod that you downloaded from this guy's post, and switch out the yamato.nif from this mod. This will solve a broken sword, you can now dual wield, upgrade, and have a non invisible sword.

 

My mistake. It appears the author on this other mod didn't put the crafting/enchant variables in it. This is an easy fix, open CK, Set YamatoScbAction.esp as archive, parent esp is skyrim.esm. to fix the invisible sword with yamato mod, i first, deactivated the animation mod through nexus, load game, saved it, quit, then reactived the animation mod through nexus, load the game, console command the sword, and it worked perfectly
