RunicGray Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 For me, there is still something just slightly off with her jawline and her nose sellion. For the jawline, I think the bottom jaw area needs to be a bit wider - it seems to taper so finely from the front, that she can't have a fully-formed jaw (especially for the back row of teeth). I've done a quick, dirty photoshop of what she'd look like if her face profile was a little wider - mind you, mine includes her cheekbones and chin (which I don't think need that much adjustment) - it's mostly the jaw area in line with her mouth to look at: That looks... interesting n_n what actually made me notice how weird the jaw looks is the left picture. For some reason tiny like that the shape stands out more. It does kind of look like her skull would have an abnormally tiny jaw bone on it. I posted this in a different thread, but it might be helpful here as well. Again, just a rough guideline on how the human face is proportioned. In this one, it's the line from the jawline at mouth level to the cheekbones that might be helpful for you. In your image, it appears that her face begins to taper straight from cheekbones to chin. In general proportions, the face tapers very slightly from cheekbone to jawline/mouth-line, and then tapers to the chin. I've shown an outline of the picture from before, so you can see how the jawline looks. I hope that makes sense. It's difficult to describe!
Derpakiin Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Yes, and appearing just a bit "sylvan" is certainly the intent (she's meant to be of mixed heritage). And of course I'm making her look however I like her, but I've always found that, even when making something only to please my own eyes, other peoples' eyes still have a remarkable ability to help make it look even more pleasing to mine. That's generally how I roll when trying to make my own drawings. I'm always hunting around on opinions on how to make my girls look better.
Taskmaster Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 She was more appealing when her eyes were lower. She looks unsettling in your updates. What a difference something subtle can make. I thought tenzan's suggestions were good enough.
tenzan Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Might be zoomed in too close on those more recent ones.
Guest Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Your choice of eye shape is the most effective race defining feature, everything else has be designed to accommodate them imo. My honest first impression on looking at your updated pics is that the face looks just a little too cramped for them, and honestly I much preferred the longer chin of your original, which itself could have just done with a touch more work to make the face structure more of an effective frame for the eyes. I've created a lot of them of over the years, so I know how very hard it is to finish up with something that's both exotic and also at least approaching conventionally attractive. In the attempts attached below, my conclusion (regardless of any rules of proportion) was always that big, beautiful slanted almond eyes need a fairly bold frame, and with elves that usually means some strong angularity for balance.
sen4mi Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I would have gone with your original face model and made her forehead slightly taller. Elves are supposed to look alien, I think?
xenic Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Since Loverslab is the place to go for experts on what stupidly hot women look like, I am back once again to post pictures of my Skyrim waifu and have people comment on her proportions and stuff. Also she reminds me of someone but I can't pin down who... All the input welcome, I won't get upset if you think she looks like a alien or something. I think she looks beautiful, however the neck seems a bit too thick.

dTd Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I liked the original much better, I'd leave her exactly as she was.
