Both are rather well done mods but Estrus has some serious problems which Estrus Mimics inherit because it's entirely dependant on it. Bugs/Problems -Estrus is not kept up todate with SKSE. Estrus Mimics is kept up to date for now. The author is still around but his mod is entirely dependant on Estrus. -Estrus does not work with Sexlab, nor does Mimics since it depends on Estrus. -Estrus doesn't work with Devious Devices and has trouble attaching some of it's pieces because of DD. -Estrus doesn't work with Sexlab Aroused. -Estrus has a troublesome stuck in 3rd person camera bug. I think it's related to it's free-cam mode which if it was made to work with sexlab it wouldn't need this. -Estrus makes a lot of calls (not sure if that's the right term) to this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19169/? Which creatures a lot of papyrus log spam. Even that mod is buggy too at least that's what the comments are stating. It should be possible to code something that doesn't create such spam. So these are some of the problems. It might not be all of them but these are the ones I've found so far. If anyone else has found a bug/problem that's not listed here I'll add it to the OP so everyone can see them at once. Framework Idea Edit: Apparently this is now possible with the latest version of Estrus. So how hard or easy it would be to fix this, I haven't a clue but after seeing what Estrus Mimics did. I can see Estrus being used as a sorta "framework" mod in which it could be called in any instance for any other mod. Just imagine it...-Your working for the Capture Dreams shop and piss off the owner with your bunders and so get thrown in a floor cell where this thing attacks you. That is your punishment.. or maybe it's a reward for a job well done? ;p-You could be facing an evil Necromancer faction who have learned how to summon creatures from Oblivion and Estrus is the result.-Lose against Dwemer machines and be dragged to a lab where your experimented on by it's inhabitants... Estrus.-Sanguine from SD+ thought it would be hilarious if dragons had the Estrus Shout.As you can see there are possibilities but the problem is the core mod needs to be maintained and kept updated. So I ask.. anyone willing to tackle on this task? -------- Ideas/Suggestions from others Neodarkside and Budroi asked for: .... I know it works without it fine,,, and I see no log messages about it. I do not know about Estrus mimics though. It uses SKSE, Fores, SKYUI and you have to be sure you have MfgConsoleFunc.pex. and recommends a little sexy apparel replacer if you wish the targets to get half undressed. - 3rd person camera bug exist due to focus change - least when I was toying with it I've seen in logs an npc attempts to interact with the character during the long animation seqs, and estrus then gets lost in restoring focus to 1st person then. Go into sneak mode es-t-rus self again and the camera should return.

So much things could be done with it, so many mods could come out of it, as well as making it less buggy. But as it's been said, it's creator has been absent for a while so I don't think anything can be done about it for now.

I did a little digging and comparing between scripts and ini files that I could see. They both seem to be same thing soo... Guess it's fine but that's just another reason a compatibility patch should be looked into.

Estrus has been out for a long time... an update that was integrated into sexlab would be awesome, maybe a chance to implement some of the ideas that have floated around for a while now like: tentacle traps and mimics dwemer sex traps expansion on Seekers and Lurkers from dragonborn DLC alternate Afflicted attacks General sexual perversion from Sanguine (including for a corrupted Dibellan cult?) the aforementioned trees Anyway, that's just my 2 cents... I'm not a modder, but I do have some idea how much work i'm asking someone to take up here. So i really hope one of the amazingly talented modders we have finds some inspiration here.

I just looked to make sure the .Pex was there. So installed Estrus as is... One nice thing about Estrus is it gives you a way to get back out of free form camera should you ever be left in it - I did so when some SL mod left me stuck in free form camera. For an old mod with bugs it has some pretty good recovery aspects to it.

I've been running Estrus Chaurus, Estrus, and Mimics for awhile now and they work perfectly. New version of Estrus added new spells instead of shouts. The issue with it getting you stuck in third person corrects itself by using a forge, grindstone, armor bench, etc. Any of the benchs that pulls the camera to third person mode. I use the Haven Bag mod so when Mimic triggers and messes up the camera, I just use my bag and then use one of them in there. I'd like to see Estrus Chaurus added as well, I dislike the MCM options, have to use a mod called Actor Monitor. I like when Chaurus triggers from afar because then you get the Estrus tentacles, if the Chaurus bites you, you just get raped by the Chaurus and still get impregnated but no cool tentacles. Speaking of EC, I'd LOVE to see the same idea but with Spiders. Spider attacks, it wins, it gets its animations on you, then you have spider eggs implanted in you and they slowly mature and eventually give birth like they do in EC, meanwhile pregnant belly

As in, yeah, you just got thoroughly raped by tentacles, but your character's arousal has not moved an inch, and her experience is still set to virgin, even though this is then tenth time a mimic surprises her in a dungeon. Pretty sure that's what was meant.

They do no communicating, interface nor integrate - i.e. Estrus has no effect on SL stats and likewise SL does tell Estrus to fire off events (triggering scripts) etc... What the scope of this thread seems to be is to address utilizing the functionality of Estrus via sl, which can mean either building an interface between the two ... or possibly getting access/approval to add Estrus functionality and animations into sl framework ... or an alternative is to build a similar Estrus set of functionality into SL from scratch. In the end... the entire idea is to give future mods (which utilize sl) the availability and possible use of Estrus components and control.... like a mod with the machine or tenticals etc. and all affecting sl variable stats. i,e, like in a mod where a prisoner is taken from her cell and tossed on an estrus-like machine (estrus or sl script/animation) every day (sl or mod tally variable) until she submits into being a sex-slave (mod attribute).
