gregathit Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 While I would agree with the hilarity of most of it, let me remind you that many of the things we do have today were met with scorn years ago. People are fickle.
pinky6225 Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Weird video wont load for me on either firefox or IE Personnally i never worried about being caught on a film camera without my knowledge/consent and i never worried about it when digital camera's came about and then i still was unconcerned when every mobile phone got a camera so i doubt i'm going to lose sleep about this particular method of image capture either

I have also sometimes some video's won't load.
Shadowhawk827 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 While I would agree with the hilarity of most of it, let me remind you that many of the things we do have today were met with scorn years ago. People are fickle. It's not so much a question of being fickle as either beat down or just overwhelmed with social engineering messages into thinking things that should be wrong are right. Privacy issues are a big one there. Younger people have just been fed a line of BS for so long about it's necessary for this or that... We have to market your data to recoup operating costs or whatever that they never stop to question it. People that remember what genuine privacy is like, pay attention to the depths of data mining, or just plain have enough common sense to realize it's wrong to sell another's life story for profit are written off as conspiracy nuts and trouble makers. Facebook (as an example) is popular and people are too much like sheep to say "dude, I'm not hanging out there and letting them track everything I say and look at." As long as we let pop culture shape our thinking for us, it'll only continue.
BAB PEEG Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 You'd think these people wearing a computer on their heads would carry pepper spray or something on them. HURRR I GOT ATTACKED AND I'LL JUST LET IT HAPPEN. Fuck you.
Captain Cobra Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 You'd think these people wearing a computer on their heads would carry pepper spray or something on them. HURRR I GOT ATTACKED AND I'LL JUST LET IT HAPPEN. Fuck you. They might be living in a place where defending one's self is a crime.
AKM Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 They might be living in a place where defending one's self is a crime. But, but... there couldn't possibly be any places like that in the world. That's such a stupid idea that anyone could see what a stupid idea it is. Right?
Shadowhawk827 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 They might be living in a place where defending one's self is a crime. But, but... there couldn't possibly be any places like that in the world. That's such a stupid idea that anyone could see what a stupid idea it is. Right? We should be so lucky that people had the common sense God gave an ant there. Getting back on track though... Yeah Google glasses are actually being banned in alot of places out here due to privacy issues. Casinos apparently are even worried about them being used to count cards. If Google was more capitalist than spy agency, I'd say I bet they start marketing a RFID box you can carry or wear that will block google glasses pointed at you. Sell it for half the price of the glasses and make money off of both sides of the controversy. As I've pointed out before though, information is Google's business, NOT privacy. They see what you do while surfing on google chrome, what you write in gmail, they outright claim ownership of anything you store in google docs if you read the user agreement, they know everything you do on a google / andriod phone (don't worry, Apple spies on iPhone users too ), and they no doubt see everything you see on google glasses. Even better, they keep building more and more servers to archive ALL of that information
D_ManXX2 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Not to mention police brutality etc.. This case it will be really good evidence on counteracts these types of crimes. This time they are committed by law givers. Priceless. The white cops committing crimes again black people in America has always been a thorn in this place. This will be good way to solve this atrocity.
pinky6225 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Well to play devils advocate do you all not think the potential advantages of glass type technology outweigh the negatives? As an example I know CPR as i did first aid training a few years back but again it was a few years back and i've never had a reason to use it so if someone suddenly did collapse next to me I would try and assist them but I wouldn't be the most confident person (reason i would assist knowing that i'm not the most confident person doing it is since even badly done CPR increases the chance of a meaningful recover by quite a factor compared to doing nothing) Now imagine with a voice command i could have an overlay with where to place my hands for compressions, a timer to help me keep the number of compressions to breaths correct and maybe even contact the emergency services while i'm doing all of this (admittedly the tech isn't there yet but we went from suit case size mobile phones to palm ones in an incredibley short amount of time) Since it seems to me if there is even a potential for the above then maybe everybody getting up in arms over the potential for someone to take a photo isn't really the wisest idea.
prideslayer Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 1. Privacy concerns when out in public are silly. You have none. 2. If you strap a camera to your face just to walk around, you look like a tard. Just sayin'. 3. Fully support establishments banning them if they want to, private property etc. edit: youtube of the segment. huffpo is too scripty for me to see vids there either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3_3oeDX1uk

PsychoMachina Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 People are worried about Google Glasses spying on others? They are not doing anything new. Amazon Spygadgets Spyshop911
D_ManXX2 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Well if they going to be walking around like that there should be the opportunity too dress like a ninja too. At east you covered your face to not be recognized.
pinky6225 Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Well if they going to be walking around like that there should be the opportunity too dress like a ninja too. At east you covered your face to not be recognized. You can only dress like i ninja wearing google glass if it's a pink costume. sweet
D_ManXX2 Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Looks like hackers already started to hack this glass. They even take over without the wearer even knowing they themself are being watched.
DMCDante Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I don't get it. Why is everyone so damn afraid of being filmed out in public? And what happened to freedom? If they choose to look stupid with those things on, so be it.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I have no problem with who ever wears those. My problem is if people can't drive while on a cell I don't see how this could be anymore safe if you are being distracted. Even if you directly faced straight ahead.
DMCDante Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I agree, in fact if cellphones users have rules/laws to abide so should those glasses. Ironically stated they are in fact a cellphone on your face lol.
Guest Mogie56 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 hmmm Next. two way TV's and Monitors brought to you by "Google Glass". No need for kinnect anymore. maybe it will even control your Google Robot Car and Google Drones and......
pinky6225 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I have no problem with who ever wears those. My problem is if people can't drive while on a cell I don't see how this could be anymore safe if you are being distracted. Even if you directly faced straight ahead. Managed to drive with them fine for about a decade before they made it illegal over here rather than prosecute dangerous drivers under the already existing dangerous driving laws. So we now have seperate laws saying we can't eat while driving, we can't drink while driving, we can't play with a sat nav while driving and no mobile phone usage. I expect smoking/talking to passengers will be the next set of restrictions
prideslayer Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 pinky nailed it. Distracted driving, reckless endangerment, etc.. all can be used to cover all of this stuff.
