When i started, i set it to master, because i like my games to be challenging. But after i kept getting raped i lowered it to expert and i play on expert now. What do you play on?

The default, whatever that is (edit: apparently it's Adept), as I generally play games more for the overall experience than the challenge. At the same time, though, my axe warrior is approaching the point where she can 1- or 2-shot most normal enemies, so I might raise the difficulty just to keep things interesting.

Playing on Adept. Much like Glugg, I prefer a more balanced experience on my first playthrough of a game. Since I will no doubt be replaying the game with different characters later on, I'll just save the harder difficulties till then to help keep things fresh.

adept but with about +100-500 levels to make it more challenging (though on one char i set level to 9999 25k hp random imperial enemys...)

I initially started Yin on default (adept), but after I ran in to a random wolf in the woods and took it out no problem with just fists @ lvl 1 I decided it was a bit too easy. I bumped it up to expert but as I realized that after a certain level even that becomes fairly easy I bumped it to master. Playing a new character on master is a pain for a while but it quickly remedied after reaching white run and spending some time increasing skills / level. Kaori and Vaneel have been played on master level solely now.

I like games that give me a challenge but i will choose immersion over it. I played my main character with master diff its like my female character is really a female and needs to relay on sneak and a 2hand warhammer is fatal for her. But immersion broke it bec over 9k arrows on a bandit chiefs head and he is still alive. So i went with adept now my character is like super girl. Im playing with expert right now for balance and using a combat immersive mod called duel to keep my game immersive and challenging.

What difficulty setting is tgm? ;)

I don't care for reloading over and over in difficult spots, I'm just in it for the story and the environment, to be a hero -- not another newbie toolbag with an arrow in his knee.

Normal, only for one reason. The game was meant to be played (nvidia lol) that way in the 1st walktrough. You can play harder in future walktroughs to make it more interesting, but developers make games so that you don't get killed 100 times before you can even draw your weapon, just like 2pac said.

Playing in hard is fine if you want to make it a bit more insteresting, but as I said, I think that level isn't the apropiate for the 1st walkthrough. But, pleople have different opinions, that's why you can choose hard and hardest at the very beggining (or easy).

P.S.: I'm surprised you didn't include easiest on the poll. I guess nobody plays that level lol

I'am playing on master x4.

Once I got smithing and enchanting to 100 the game started to be way too easy, even on regular master difficulty.

I'd just wish there was some way to increase all enemy's hitpoints, since even though the damage I take on master x4 is just about right, my two-handed daedric sword kills pretty much anything with just two swings, even if the target blocks, what makes the game pretty boring atm :/

Playing it on master, I just can't seem to enjoy a game unless the difficulty is cranked way up, Dragon age origin's nightmare mode has to be the best experience I've ever had in terms of this I must say. The only exception to this, is of course the devil may cry series.

Default difficulty, as was already said, it was desinged for it. Especially applies to Beth's games, because their idea of "difficulty" is just increasing enemies hitpoints. I use mods for greater challenge.

Oh... I wonder if they've patched the game to be a bit more difficult?

I mean, I'm like level 30 and an ice wolf is still pretty hard to kill with an ebony sword... and an ice bear(?) killed me multiple times just a few hours ago.. I mean DAMN it was a tough bear. :s (Playing a Khajiit and on Adept)

My first playthrough with a Nord seemed easier, in my opinion. I started it as adept and played it with adept until like level 40 and then I set it to expert, as the game was getting waaaay too easy.

(1 powerhit with a sword killed bandits, bears, sabrecats etc.... 2-3 powerhits killed a giant... and I literally could kill a dragon in less than 10 seconds if it just landed near me.)

But now, with my Khajiit, I seem to be in a whole lot of trouble all the time :D I have no idea why.. I haven't really used melee - mostly bow, flames and firebolt. and sneaked, so I'm not that much of a warrior - but anyway everything seems so daaamn hard. ESPECIALLY dragons.

Battled a frost dragon today and died like 20 times, had to keep on running and healing all the time - it barely took any damage from flames/firebolt, kept killing me from full health with it's frost blasts if I even considered trying to keep shooting arrows at it repeatedly and EVERY time it got close it just simply grabbed me in it's mouth and tossed me away dead - even if I was pretty much in full health. :s

So kinda having mixed feelings... Adept seemed too easy with my first character but I wouldn't even consider putting it on expert on my second character.

(And it surely isn't because I suck at playing skyrim - I've already played skyrim for 198hours, so trust me - I've learned the works :D)

Oh and the other day I got attacked by a spriggan matron, 3 bears, 1 sabrecat and 2 wolves at the same time :DD That was... horrible. Yet hilarious. I eventually did kill em all.. and even a goat and an elk seemed to be mad at me, as they were marked as enemies (red dots) on the minimap :P

(And no I have no mods that affect gameplay, only a Dynamic lighting and sunglare... so what's up with the sudden change in difficulty... :P Does my character just suck...?)

I usually play on the default setting for a bit, then amp up the difficulty once I get a feel of how things work in a game. I restarted last as on Expert and maxed smithing to level and have all my combat/armor stats far behind just to make it a bit harder.

Master. Still difficult for me in the mid 40's as I'm running around in only light armor with no perk points spent in the armor tree. Sure, I can kill most normal things in one or two shots if I get the drop on them, but if I fail, I can get taken out by two or three shots myself.

I also found that I can't stop traveling with Lydia. She's grown on me. Me being a stealth build, she keeps things interesting and a difficult on the getting a drop on people department since her heavy armor self is always alerting enemies.

I play hard when I'm Berzerker mode with a 2 hander sword, otherwise you don't get much of a fight.

I play easy/mid when I'm ninja mode because the challenge is in being unseen, not in stand up fights.

expert for me, well im putting that cuz its what i played on for most of it... after i got daedric armor/wheps i set it to master cuz expert was to easy >.

My wife and I both play on expert, she doesnt use console cheats, I do and she still doesnt die as often as I do thoe i do keep my health at 200 at level 64... wifey can go toe to toe with anything and it dies with 1 or 2 hits (nord using mace of Molag bahl) she is wicked... me, I got killed by a freakin mud crab that i didn't see lol.

Master here as well. I make a lot of custom characters though, which I modav to balance things out (daedric/ebony/orcish gear at start etc).

I also use the Deadly Dragon's mod, and dragon fights last around 5-7 minutes. Which was a welcome change to the stock 5 hits and they're dead snoozefest of normal master mode.

2pac: If you want some level 1 character saves to mess with on master difficulty, let me know. I have tons. Mostly Nords and Redguards, with a few mixed race/abilities. Latest is a Highelf/Redguard halfbreed, and all of which use your body/armor mod LOL

Well, in my first playthrough i was a mage, started on adept but soon changed to master, conjuration made everything too eeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssyyyyy, even alduin died with 2 dremora lords -.-, bah, then i made a sneaky woodelf, oh my..., hit killing ancient dragons >.<, now i'm leveling a warrior, and when i get good level i will use the plus difficulty mod, then i will run of wolfs maybe XD

I play on Master right now, started as a fresh-faced mage getting one or two shot by anything with a bow or a power attack.

I really do enjoy the challenge of Master as it makes combat very scary.

Master also and I'm still finding it to easy :P, Might be cause i'm playing archer/sneak and i can three shot most bosslike enemies. So I use some mods to toughen it up like "Wars in skyrim" and "PISE". I kno this is probably one of the easyest classtypes to play on master, but I enjoy playing ranger in almost any game I play.
