OK, so I stole a horse.

Warning, really dumb newbie question.

 

I'm on a snowy road to Whiterun, and there is a horse all by itself. My cursor says: Steal horse. So I did.

 

Up to now, I've walked or taken a cart to various places.

 

So here is my stupid question: How do I dismount? I'm at the Windheim stables, and I just want to get off the dumb beast.

Use your "E" key (if you haven't changed that). It's your action key.

Yeah, the E key on a keyboard and the A button on a controller do the same thing. They're the "action" key/button.

Sorry, but this really made me laugh. I just had to imagine it ... a famous horse-stealer unable to get off his stolen merchandise ...

 

Sorry again, usually I don't make fun of people, I was fighting with key-bindings often enough myself! (But I always secretly look them up in the manual or google, I would never dare to ask in a forum, because of idiotic comments like mine )

 

Hope you have fun with the game, and I might recommend a mod like "Convenient horses", makes riding with your OWN horse way more fun (and turns it into a movable storage box, too!)

Only older Beth games even come close in that regard. Unmodded? A couple you listed are better in some ways, but not all, and Skyrim is far better than those when it is modded.

I don't think Skyrim modded makes a better game than a Dark Souls, a Link to the Past, an Ocarina of Time, a Baldur's Gate 2, a Dragon's Dogma, Witcher 2... Preciselly I mentioned games that are in the olimpo of gaming (except Morrowind and Mass Effect ofc those are just good games) to make a more exagerated comparsion. Modding Skyrim its a fun hobby, but it doesn't make a bad game such as Oblivion or Skyrim good, its just make up and porn... It's ok because Skyrim being pretty bad in gameplay and rpg elements makes a really nice sandbox (open world, exploration) although not many choices to actually modify the world and just 2 o 3 dungeon patterns that repeats over and over... Not that there aren't much better sandbox-open world than Skyrim.

ha Dark Souls is a console game, it is never comparable to a PC graphic quality. the other games are also very outdated, they can "likewise" not keep up with the graphic of skyrim! OK, the game peformens was in the older play better, they were more diverse. but there is a game to which I am especially looking forward.

Dark Souls is also a PC game... And Skyrim graphics were already outdated back in 2011. I was talking just about game mechanics, gameplay. Obviously the newer the game the best looking...
