What incompatibilities does ENB have?

Hi everyone, I've been considering adding an ENB to my game for a while, since I've heard of its many wonders such as improved memory allocation, awesome graphics, and other stuff. But a quick search on google shows that quite a few people have ran into problems when using ENB and so I'd like to ask, what incompatibilities does ENB have?

Things that I guess may be incompatible would be:

SKSE

My version: 1.6.16

RCRN

My version: Anniversary Edition 2.1.4

HDT

My version: 10.24

since they also make some changes to the .dll files and what not, I think >_>

I'm concerned that adding an ENB may screw up my game and force a reinstall. Any experienced users care to chip in? :)

Modlist attached:

System specs:

Operating System : Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1

Intel® Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz x8 ~3401MHz
Current Clock Speed : 3401MHz

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670

12GB DDR3 RAM

By the looks of the software info it looks ok, but it's VERY heavy on the hardware (not something to use in low-end PC's). It also depends on that you have read and understood the description on the mod page, to make the settings right for that ENB.

Better post what Hardware you got to get more help :P

RCRN is probably incompatible as I think it has it's own d3d9.dll.  Enhanced Lighting and FX or Realistic Lighting overhaul would be compatible assuming they don't clash with the colour changes your ENB makes.

I run Phinix ENB with HDT and ELFX on a lot older computer than you have.  Phinix hasn't updated recently but I'm running the lastest .252 ENB dll with the Phinix setting files and it works fine.

Thanks! I'll give it a go, wish me luck xD

Edit: Now Skyrim CTDs when I get to the main menu, hmm... ):

Papyrus log:

Didn't get this CTD problem without ENB though...

SKSE and HDT are fine. HDT can be a problem if you use some specific versions of HDT and ENB. Use the latest ENB and latest/stable HDT.
RCRN will not work as said above. There are also some incompatibilities with mods like CoT or RLO, read the descriptions.
System specs look good, but even I with a 780ti have laggs with some ENB. Maybe because of 2k textures :P

I uninstalled all the mods that popped up in the Papyrus error log, and yet it still crashes upon loading to the main menu...

What could be wrong? :\

I also updated to the latest version of HDT. RCRN was uninstalled before I installed the ENB.

Got any other mods that require RCRN you may have missed uninstalling at the same time?  CTD at main menu is usually a missing master file.

Just checked through the whole mod list, there doesn't seem to be any missing masters :\

Edit: Ah, it appears that Skyrim Startup Memory Editor (SSME) was interfering with the loading process, it worked after removing it

Now, however, all characters have blank eyes (the place where the eye is supposed to be is pitch black, this does not include the eyelid/eyebrows etc, only the actual eyeball)

Edit: Okay I'm a retard, forgot to turn AA off >_>

Well I'd consider this more or less solved, except that I have to start a new game, but oh well, nothing console commands can't fix!

i would say it depends on what you want to use of ENBs functionality.
if you're only intressted in Depth of Field and GodRays, then you won't run into much trouble.
if you use all the other stuff you'll run into incompatibility/inconsistency with mods that change lightning, shaders and/or weather. Some mods offer compatibility plugins for use with ENB, but only some.
Another case are some SKSE plugins like HDT.

i only use the GodRays and sometimes DoF, because as it stands now most ENBs look good in exteriors OR interiors and some look only good at day OR night. To inconsistent for my taste and ENBs that can look good/acceptable overall simply need to much power and i don't like it when my frames drop below 60.
