DamienDarkstar Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I have recently begun attempting to use some adult mods for Skyrim, and things had been going well. SexLab works fine, as do several animation packs, as well as SexLab Romance and SexLab Arrousal, but now it seems I've hit a wall. I tried to install several new mods last night, including Schlongs of Skyrim, Appropos, SexLab Trainers, Devious Devices (Assets, Integration, the shop, and some of the replacer sound effects for gags), and the Cum on the Cum Texture replacer; but when ever I have even a single one of these mods selected in Mod Organizer, Skyrim crashes at the main menu, just before I get the option to load or start a new game.I've tried TESVedit several times to check if I was mising any master .esms, and at one point I did find I needed another animation pack (Zaz, I believe) but even then all the above mods made me crash. I also applied BOSS liberally. At this point I'm stumped. Any glaring mistakes I made? Also having two other problems, but I think they're unrelated. It looked as though HDTPhysics Extension made my Dragonborn's right boob get smooshed against her chest with the slightest movement in a rather unappealing way (Good old Lefty's fine, though), and I lose my hair, eyebrows, and much of my face tweaking whenever I load the game, having to do a lot of RaceMenu work every time I play. The pre-sets don't really seem to work for all of it, either. If anyone has any suggetions, I'd love to hear them. Thanks.
Groovtama Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 You have won the Achievement: "I don't read descriptions" Every mod you say which is crashing the game is working for me. You also don't read the stuff for HDT_PE that is mentioned. Suggestion: "Read the descriptions"
Spyder Arachnid Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Basically what Groovtama said. Read the descriptions of all those new mods you downloaded. As for your HDT issue, what body are you using? BBP or TBBP? Animation replacers (walk, run, etc)? Skeleton? HDT needs a TBBP enabled body, and in order to avoid the crushed breast and butt issue, you need TBBP animations as well and a skeleton that supports them. Using BBP with HDT will result in crushed... stuff. As for your face resetting issue, I don't know much about RaceMenu, so can't help you there sorry. I personally use ECE myself. Hopefully someone more familiar with RaceMenu can assist you with that. Also just a future FYI, we have a tech support section for this kind of stuff.
DamienDarkstar Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Fair enough. Thanks for the help, despite my skipping the full description in my rush to get to the good bits
Deedlit Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Belive its important, its not just for fashion the modder write a description, alot of people here (at loverslab) is not english native speaker (like me) and try harder to undestand that (imagine thinking like Yoda does, and i need do that all times to read and write english, because english have a way of write its goes like that for me ), if i can read and alot people do same thing, at least try please.
WiCloud Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 ahh, the hair problem. it disappeared when loading a game hmm? It never occurs on the vanilla races but it does on customs. well, for me it did. Best way i resolve it is kick up the racemenu through console commands and choose a different hair. As for the main problem, i start a new game before installing any new sexlab mods. it seems to cause bugs in the scripts if i do it in a save game. for what reasons, i don't know. If you EVER install a mod with animations run the Generate_FNIS tool for users each time or you may get crashes or glitches/bugs. If problems still persist then go through your mod manager and uncheck recently installed mods, run skyrim and see what happens. If you find the mod(s) causing problems, then go check the recommended mods list along with any descriptions.
Deedlit Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Can you post your mod list? belive that will really helps to try find a solution.
Aliris Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 To add another suggestion, one thing I've found quite useful for sorting out mod dependencies is Wrye Bash http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1840/? It's also useful for merging leveled lists, but what's really proved invaluable to me is the way it lets me see just what other mods a given mod is reliant on, what's missing, and what's in the wrong load order.

Actually, I'm not using any custom race, though some of my research on this problem looks like my character being a vampire may have something to do with it. I've chosen some different hairs, including vanilla hairs (I also have Apachii and the Ponytails hair mods installed), but the results are the same. A number of facial features are resetting to the preset that I originally worked from as well. I have gone back and re-read all the descriptions of the mods I mentioned but haven't really found anything I did wrong. I would start a new game with the new mods, but the game crashed when I had them installed at a point BEFORE I was allowed to select whether to continue or start a new game. I unchecked the mods I mentioned and it ran fine. I also tried totally removing the mods, and I recently tried re-installing Apropos... and it worked? Not sure why. When I get a chance I'll post a list of the mods I'm using, though even before I started adding SexLab mods it was a long list (over 200+).
Rodlah Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Sounds like there's a dependency to something that you're missing, like a skeleton or HDT high heels. If you have over 200 mods, it might just be something as simple as Papyrus crashing under the script load. But, this is just me thinking in text, since I've had similar problems with mod dependencies before. Hope you get it figured out
DamienDarkstar Posted April 9, 2014 Author Posted April 9, 2014 Looks like it might just be an excessive number of plug-ins. I've tried disabling a few mods and it looks like everything works if I take out a few, no matter which it is I disable. Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of plug-ins that Mod Organizers can handle?
Spyder Arachnid Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Not sure about Mod Organizer, but Skyrim in general can only handle 255. That is counting the game's esm's as well. After that, well, the game in general becomes unstable and ends up crashing and corruption starts occurring. If you've gone over that limit, it is best to either start pruning and finding out what you don't need, or start merging mods. Using Tes5edit you can merge pretty much all of your armor/weapon mods into a single esp to make space (one for armor and one for weapons to keep it clean). The newest version of the merge script says it fixed the navmesh issue too, so you should be able to merge house mods as well now. It will definitely free up some space and help on the load as well with only loading one mod, instead of a ton of them.
Dubhorizon Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Mod Organizer should already be warning you about dependency issues. There should be red icons next to the esp that needs it. If you scroll over it, you will be able to see in bold letters what's missing. I'm using MO for everything except FNIS and it couldn't be any more user friendly.
Deedlit Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Advice start removing the mods wichj ust give 1 armor/cloth and its 1 esp, after start doing same for custom followers, i was almost at limit because that, and now im cool again, and removing that ones dnt really mess with game files.

I've pruned a bit, but I'll look into teaching myself how to use TESVedit to merge some more. I've only used the program to check if my CTDs are because of missing masters that MO isn't catching. Yeah, I watch out for those warnings in MO already. It doesn't always catch them, so I occasionally run TESVedit to catch any others, but I certainly appreciate MO after having used NMM for a while. This issue seems to have been more about the number of plugins than the missing masters. Thanks! I'll keep this in mind when I start trying to merge some of my mods.
Spyder Arachnid Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 This is what you'll need to merge mods with Tes5Edit. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37981/? It is really user-friendly. The description on that page tells you what to do, and it is really easy to get the hang of it after that. Makes merging extremely easy. Just remember after you merge mods, to disable/delete the esps that you merged. This way you don't run into issues for having duplicates.
