buglover Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I discovered that the "Aurora-Twilight" follower mod (available on Nexus) is breaking pretty much every adult-oriented mod it comes across. I don't know if it is intentional, but I suspect it is since it appears to breaking ONLY adult-oriented mods. It is incompatible with some mods, but they are NOT listed as incompatibilities in the mods detail page. I did find this little nugget in the forum for that mod though... "Does not work with Animated prostitution. Patch? " Response from mod developers... "Sorry. While those mods may be wanted by some people, we have no interest in it ourselves and will not be making any patches or testing compatibility for them. We hope you understand. " Notice the plural..."those mods". I seriously HOPE this is not an intentional effort to keep people from using the mods they choose to use, or an effort to force one's morality on others, but for what it's worth, this mod isn't compatible with anything that I've downloaded from THIS site.
Kaz Aanh Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I would't be suprised if it was a intentional job to prevent any kind of compabillity with the adult mods. If it was me I would do the same, its just wrong seeing your character being ravaged in the sex mods by other people. Thats also the main reason why I won't make any of my characters as a followers.
myuhinny Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Well then if people here want to use it there will probably be patches/fixes for it OR it and any of their other mods will just get thrown into the list of don't not touch like it's the plague list. There are hundreds of follower mods out there to choose from ones that works and won't break anything.
flutie Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I use auora and twilight with sexlab just fine. I have not noticed any problems, so i believe sexlab is out of the loop.
Grimbold the unlovely Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I too have used Aurora with sexlab without any issues, but I do not use rape mods (though I do use animations labelled "aggressive"). Maybe the conflict (sabotage?) is with rape mods.
aqqh Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Dont think it's possible to block certain mods. they would have to sit here all day and keep track of all new mods, all the updates just to block'em all? I found that HIGHLY unlikely. First thing that comes to mind are those two chicks a custom race? If yes then is that race supported (fully) by sexlab?
D_ManXX2 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 i don't understand: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52115/? How does a follower mod break adult mods ?? it is just an npc. sexlab should still function correctly.
Guest Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 You say they're incompatible, but what exactly are you experiencing? CTDs? Failure to load game? Errors in BOSS or Tes5Edit? As for what they said, they said they won't make a patch for adult content if there are incompatibilities. This is very common, but it doesn't mean that, since they won't do it, it can't be done. It's not anti-mod and they're not prohibiting you from using yours. They're not enforcing their own morality, they just don't want to do it for whatever their reasons are. It's like an adult modder here who doesn't want to do gay or necro or trans or whatever mod.

Really, this persecution needs to stop. They're not out to get us.
flutie Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 There are no problems or conspiracies with Auora and sexlab. I cant comment on AP, but sexlab does work. Random sex was active when these pics were taken.

Scythion Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 If they really wanted to ban sexmods, then why did they released her with a nude body?
Aliris Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Honestly, while I wouldn't begrudge anyone who went to a lot of trouble putting together such an awesome mod as A/T the right to have a say in how it's used, I think it's wrong to jump to conclusions that they're actively blocking compatibility. There are so, so many things that can go wrong and break with the various Skyrim Mods... even on a relatively stable/functional build, as I have right now, stuff sometimes doesn't work right ("Why did that Schlong not Schlongify? Why!? Arrgh!"). No need to assume malice when general brokenness is far more likely the culprit.
RDKateran Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Personally I blame the animosity towards Nexus for causing a thread like this.
Just Checking Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 As I read this thread, the thing that came to mind was "how would someone go about specifically blocking mods like AP and SL on companions?" Maybe using a custom race that had the "child" tag might work, but other than that I can't think of a way that doesn't involve a good amount of reverse engineering script and finding a way to exclude a character from it. Can anyone tell I know next to nothing about how SL and AP actually work?

Just because the Nexus admins and such don't like the idea of LL doesn't really mean the modders there are out to get us. Even if they are, it's kind of a drop in the ocean kind of deal, as the overwhelming majority of Nexus modders and users probably don't know this site even exists. I stumbled here by accident when I found it, for example.

Can anyone tell I know next to nothing about how SL and AP actually work? Add them to Sexlab's forbidden faction. That doesn't even need a sexlab dependency: if i recall correctly, it's a text rather than FormID comparison.

banshe Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Those followers aren't even that special to look at >_>. Dawn follower looked better.
chajapa Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Aurora has an interesting voice. She reminds me of Veeger (Star Trek.... bald chick.... played by Persis Kambata who has now passed away.... gorgeous) She does not, apparently, play nice with Spouses Enhanced (no dialogues although she WILL greet you as though an entry event has started) and does not appear to "remember" her house if I use Spouses Can Live Anywhere. I have not tested her with My Home is Your Home. She DOES apparently work with Lover's Comfort, Prostitution Tweaked, SexLab Romance, and I think I tested Horny Followers on her as well. Same with Lunari Warriors (by the same developer) and I think Skydream Maidens as well (also same developer). Basically the ones that use a Body Changer Stone to change body options and "enable/disable" the marriage quest. I would suspect, although I have not tested, that Hanlei (might not be spelled right) also by same developer, is in the same boat. I don't think it's a conscious effort on the dev's part to NOT work with something. I just think they are SO customized that some things just don't mesh with the vanilla system.
Aveck Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 yeah, probably all the issue with Sex Lab comes from a deep customization of the follower that messed up keywords, faction, lists and quests for them, resulting in a buggy performance for some mods. Personally i like to create my own companions with the CK so even if the whole world start to make "companions against sex" i wouldn't care
