I hit the 255 mod limit realy fast trying to get on all these mods that I realy like alot.  Alot of them are added followers and working to actualy populate Skyrim, then alot them to enhance the actual game play of course.   Is there any good way to break this 255 mod limit?  I'm having to cut alot back just to add more mods that I realy find to be nice additions to what I currently have.

You can merge things but it gets unreliable on things with scripts. I have merged armors, weapons, hairs and most things like that but stay away from doing anything that would get regular updates or anything that another mod references.

is there any guide or do that? because already deleted some followers because near of limit with cbbe preset (again), i guess doing that with followers goes all good no? alot people just release 1 follower and its also 1 esp, im trying avoid that ones at least for now.

I have seen some youtube videos and there is a script for TES5Edit that will do it for you as well. I don't remember exactly how I went and did it, it was a while ago.

Well, Vast majority are all Follower Mods, are those heavy scripting?  I think couple might be cause of voice acting and story added, but most are just quick add followers.

I've only merged armor mods (26 so far) into a single .esp. I'm too paranoid to go beyond armor mods atm.  This is what i used to do it.  Good luck.

One thing that isn't mentioned, do you have to go through and deactivate any mod you had merged, or does it do that before setting up the new merged one?

You'll have to deactivate them yourself.

 

OK!! I reduced the number of mods by 100!  all them being added Followers ^^;   Anyways, i noticed there's alot that have invisibl bodies and such after deactivating their original files though.

all my mods dont run scripts. in other words, all can be merged into a single file :blush:

Did you uninstall the originals or just deactivate the esp's?

 

Also, you may want to check and see if those use custom items or textures, you may have to fix them.

SOooo, re-install them and maybe just deactivate them via the mod manager and leave the Merged esp on?

Yes and if you still have missing items you will have to unpack the bsa that came with the original mod. Something I used to do with Fallout 3 and Oblivion was to unpack all the mods into a single location that I wanted to merge then repackage them into a single zip file to be installed. That way you have all the meshes and textures you need for those mods and you don't have to manually install them into your game folder.

Hmmm, well I seemed to gained some sort of error that's crashing the game pretty hard.

This comes up when running TSVEDIT, along with a TON of others with similar names but different locations.  I just tried to do clean install and these errors are still there o.O...
