astor Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I'm trying to lighten my script load, and both Radient Prostitution Tweaked, http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/529-radiantprostitution-tweaked/ and TDF Prostitution http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/403-sexlab-tdf-prostitution-and-pimping-the-former-aggressive-prostitution-v1818/ have a lot of scripts. I like them both and make use of both of them, so i'm not sure which one to keep. If there's another such mod like these two, i don't know of it.
hryh23k9823u Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I don't understand the part when you say you want to use both so you don't know which one to keep... Keep both?
gvman3670 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I've only used Working Girl and TDF's mod. I prefer TDF's mod to be honest. It works great.
Pinute Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 the script load for either is pretty low. Number of scripts isn't the issue, it's what they do. Any meaningful script overhead you get in TDF or Radiant will only be from the autonomous npc prostitutes. Leave them off you're good to go.

I need to lighten my script load, so one of them needs to go, but i've used both for a while now, and i'm not sure where one ends and the other begins. the script load for either is pretty low. I'm not a modder, so i don't really understand about script load. I just see that both of those mods have a lot of scripts and they both do similar things.

I'm not a modder, so i don't really understand about script load. I just see that both of those mods have a lot of scripts and they both do similar things. Script load (the more load the slower all scripts run; get enough load and things start to stop working right) comes from scripts that are constantly running. An example of scripting that adds to the load is Wet and Cold, which is constantly checking the weather and looking for npcs in the vicinity so it can decide whether it needs to add hoods and dripping water to them. It never stops running. The same with Schlongs of Skyrim - it's constantly scanning for npcs to schlongify. You get a lot of mods doing that kind of thing and you start getting problems. SexLab Aroused is also a large load, although Redneck tries very hard to use smart coding so it's as low overhead as possible. Scripts fired by a dialog topic (RP and TDF) don't run until and unless you choose that dialog topic. You choose a dialog option (hey, looking for a good time?), the script evaluates whether or not the npc is going to say yes, chooses the next topic in the dialog, and then stops. The vast majority of the scripts in RP and TDF are of that variety, and truly do not add to the script load. So, the short answer is that having RP, TDF, or Working Girl installed, or all three at once is not going to make your game go wonky. Wet and Cold, Footsteps, Frostfall, or other mods that are constantly looking at the game context and modifying things on the fly are where you should be looking if you're trying to reduce your scripts. Edited for grammar.
astor Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 Ah, thanks much for the explanation. Makes sense now. EDIT: Although that does put me back at square one.

astor Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 why not both?it seem work fine on my save game i'm having script lag and i'm trying to rectify it. I thought i'd try to remove the mods with the most scripts, and that's these two, right behind Vija and Cerwiden (although Cerwiden should be removed anyway as Papyrus does not like her very much). As was explained above though, script number doesn't always equal script lag, so i'm keeping both for now.
hryh23k9823u Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Script number doesn't never equals to script lag. Unofficial Skyrim Patches come with more than 400 scripts. Nothing to do with lag. Script lag only can be reduced by 1) Not using mods that runs scripts like all the time (aka Frostfall, Wet & Cold, Realistic Needs, Sexlab Aroused, etc. etc.) or 2) Upgrade CPU (well this is partially true, if you already have a good cpu you're fine and can't do more about how slow is papyrus itself, but if your cpu is old then upgrading sure reduces papyrus lag). Well there's also 3) Papyrus settings in your skyrim.ini, or even better, use a default skyrim.ini and don't touch it

I did try to remove it, but there are so many mods that are dependent upon it. Given what i learned from the various posts in this thread, I might have to remove Sands of Time. I do enjoy that mod, but something's gotta give.
