nekekami Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I know alot of people don't like going to the nexus so thought I'd post this here so it doesn't get missed, apologies if it's already been posted. new util that lets you remove orphaned scripts from savegames: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/?
Yami X Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 That tool has saved 5 out of 5 script heavy unplayable games so far so it must have done something right it's gotten my vote.
germanicus Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I tested it today. It works great. I had one save from my PC level 71 and couldn't load it in first try. After cleaning with this tool, the game loaded without freezing or CTD's. The mod cleaned over 2000 bad references and script.
Herrmannesque Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I installed and tried it out today. Definitely helped me clean out some garbage scripts and my save game loaded up without difficulty.
Redflyingmonkey Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Holy boobies, I missed my level 135 nord so much ! This stuff is da bomb. Omw to endorse right freaking now ! Thanks a lot for the link, would've passed right over it
pinky6225 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 neat tool, let me load a save game directly that I would normally have to load from another fresh saved game to avoid crashing.
Rayblue Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I used this to retrieve facemesh data and stats from a character that was beyond salvaging (fucked up by general storage and headtracking).
fangdowns Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Oh, and here I was going to post about this mod. Great minds think alike. Nice mod, good job.
Gortam Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Didn´t work for me. I still have to load a new save, and then my PC save or CTD. I was really counting on this to work
Rayblue Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Didn´t work for me. I still have to load a new save, and then my PC save or CTD. I was really counting on this to work I think you might be doing it wrong, because the author specifies that scripts marked with the hash are the ones you can delete. Otherwise everything else in the gamesave should be carefully dealt with.
nekekami Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 This also doesn't do anything to combat script bloat fromexisting mods, just gets rid of the running fragments left behind from deactivated and deleted mods
Rayblue Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Part of the bloat includes leftover forms; if you delete the form that is associated with skyrim.esm, you'll literally reset your character to 0 -- all of it.
