This is a very simple mod, but I thought someone might like it.

When you have high infamy with the NCR, you get the rangers threatening you and warning you have 3 days to improve your reputation or they are bringing you death.

It can be quite difficult to improve your reputation, especially if you have already done a lot of NCR quests, and lore wise, the NCR has plenty of corrupt politicians and brahmin barons exploiting the system. You can't bribe the rangers, they're too clean, but you can go to the Mojave Outpost and talk to Major Knight, who is authorised to sell treasury bonds which is essentially bribing the official justice system. They don't give you fame, but for every 1000 caps you spend, it reduces your infamy by 4%.

Why does it require NVSE at all? No good reason, purely to force anyone still using V2 to upgrade, since I feel that having most people still using old versions holds the modding community back

NIce. Don't know why I missed it before. Perhaps a similar thing can be done for the other major factions? Gives me a new reason to use all the massive caps I seem to be able to accumulate midway through the game.

I think most people load game whenever they incur infamy unless its right at the end of the game or they've decided to kill Legion/Powder Gangers, it means you miss out on quite a lot of quest outcomes. If the NCR hate you, it blocks a lot of game content, although its fun to do it once. I think the NCR pardon for negotiating the Boomers and the Mark of Caesar are the only ways to reduce infamy in the vanilla game.

 

In my current game I killed some NCR to show off to the PGs of NCRCF mod, I thought it would be okay but then the rangers turned up. I'm not sure the W+T I got from 3 days of soliciting to raise the bribe was worth it

I wonder if it would be possible to add a "Shady Politican" somewhere on The Strip or Freeside that you could bribe that will keep the NCR from going hostile if you pursue another story avenue. Unless this mod already does that then ignore me.

Needs a quest where you entrap an NCR politician by posing as a prostitute and then use the pictures to blackmail him into reducing your infamy.
