Alternatives to LL

I can't say I necessarily agree with LL's choice to outright remove the one nude child body there was. I'm very vocally against the posting of obviously sexualized clothing on obviously under-aged characters, to be sure. But, as squicky as it is, there are sound (if barely defensible*) reasons one might include a simple nude body for children. It's just a matter of immersion for some people, not at all a sexual thing - same reason you'd install a killable children mod. So long as the male body model was't erect or SOS-compatible, there shouldn't have been any issue, and as far as I am aware, that was indeed the case.

 

I guess censorship is technically the right word for it, but there are legitimate and very stiff legal ramifications possible if this sort of thing isn't kept strictly in check. LL isn't just a little forum, remember - we've been in articles, we're talked about on Tumblr, we're not some seedly little hidden corner where we can get away with any and everything. We kind of have to cover our asses, just a little, and if the only thing that had to be sacrificed to do it was a nude child addon for an existing child mod, then I'd say we got of lucky.

 

I really don't think we're on the path to becoming another Wolflore, so chill out.

Lots of mods are horrible, but most add things that are defensible. Killable children is my main example - why would you ever install a mod that allows you to slaughter children? Do you want to slaughter children? Are you a psycho? Well, no. Surely the option of straight up murdering kids is there, but killable children adds a sense of danger as well for heroic characters. If that dragon attacks Dawnstar and you can't kill it or lure it off, it could snatch up that little runner boy and maul kill him to death. Private Needs is another example Pissing is gross, shitting is gross, but for some people it adds a level of immersion they enjoy and will get use out of.

 

But naked children... Naked children doesn't really have a good reasoning behind it. It very much falls under the umbrella of immersion - people get naked, children aren't excluded from this IRL. But what are you going to use it for? There's no sense of danger like Killable Chilren. There's no constant need like Private Needs. It's a mod you install and, unless you actually intend to get children naked, will never ever see. About the only excuse outside of the thin but solid "immersion" is that you intend to play a child character, but that in and of itself raises questions about your intent. It just falls flat beyond the "immersion" reasoning.

However, the reasons for the decision are really irrelevant to this thread. I am looking for another mod site, not a debate on whether any topic should be banned.

And because you look for alternatives you decided to make a thread and inform everyone about it - absolutely not because you want to stir up attention or arguments.

 

 

Well, it wouldn't have turned into argument if it were not for some of the guys making it one, Morrowind542 states clearly in every post that he doesnt want to make it such. If you don't have anything to tribute for that, why reply at all? Off-topic arguments will spawn more arguments from others. Just let the thread die naturally if this subject is not your cup-of-tea. Current progress will only make the mods to lock the thread (maybe that's the exact intention for some).

 

Morrowind542, you could make a blog where you post the mods and maybe others would reply/contribute in the comment section / let you feature their mods in the blog.

 

http://skup.dip.jp/ could be one place to upload them, westerners also look for new mods in there and it might get publicity that way.

 

There are also bunch of loli/shota communities, you could make a thread there or look for existing one. 2ch-type imageboard is also an option, although the thread would have to be remade from time to time.

I think nude bodies shouldn have been removed. For me and for any people with minimal mental health, a nude kid is SFW.

Enough was moving the mods outside 'Adult and sex mods'. Kids replacers are not adult and sexual mods! And having them it a more appropiate section along would have serve  to avoid LL being a nest for pedos making pedo topics, or people accusing us members of LL of sharing our space with such people. Of course there are other thing that makes me vomit, but some things have the right to be respected, other doesn't.

You do realize that this, and every other line that goes like it ("you're just projecting your own sick fantasies on other people") are at least as insulting to those who'd voice their concern with this type mods as the accusation of being bona fide pedo is the other way around?

 

This right here, this bloody thread, is exactly why the rules were changed. Nobody can talk about this stuff in a civil manner, and all it does is create a lot of ill feeling all around. Nothing comes of it but bitching and drama, stupid excuses, fingerpointing, and people judging others by their assumption of who they are. Not to mention reports and PMs coming out of our ears from both sides while some of us are actually trying to get some work done.
