Not gonna say "no" to a new Fallout game...

BUT:
Still waiting for the seggs to happen in Oblivion Remastered.
Since there's currently nothing going on in those forums either, I don't have high hopes for just another Beth game to be seggsy.

They did make New vegas but that was like a decade ago. Their most recent games have been oof. So it's a wait and see. If they use a different engine than the known CK then modding will be GG.

no they did not, no one working at obsidian now had anything to do with FONV.

they may as well rename the company to "dog shit is us"

It's hard to say. My first question would be, are they moving on from the creation engine (highly likely) and how will this affect modding support? Will modding continue to be a core pillar of the game design or just an addon?? Since Xbox is the core focus platform, I'm inclined to believe it won't deliver in this regard, thus for me it likely will not deliver.

It is at least 10 years (it is closer to 15) too late for this to have the benefits that many people hailing this as Fallout salvation are expecting. Not only has the composition of Obsidian changed since the release of Fallout New Vegas, even that staff have changed for better or worse wherever they have gone.

I do not want modern day Tim Cain anywhere near Fallout not that the others have proven that they still have their mojo judging by any of their more recent projects.

My thoughts are that I'm not expecting anything mind blowing. Honestly, I'm expecting it to play kind of like The Outer Worlds, which felt a bit like NV at times.

Josh Sawyer directed FONV and he's directing this, he also did both of the Pillars of Eternity games and they were fine. It's not a total write off but there are are a lot of questions that will need good answers before I get my hopes up.
