Wicked Affairs Door Lock

Keep the secret behind closed doors... unless someone listens too closely.

Sims are hooking up behind closed doors while a committed partner is still on the lot. One wrong step could expose everything.

Wicked Affairs Door Lock temporarily locks eligible room doors, lets the betrayed Sim investigate what they hear, and turns discovery into an actual story instead of a Sim simply wandering into the room.

Wicked Affair Door Lock

What's New in 2.x

The current 2.x version expands WADL far beyond basic door locking.

  • Automatic eavesdropping and an Enter/Ignore choice are now part of the Public version.
  • Door routing works from the nearest reachable side, including flipped doors.
  • Heart door effects and a redesigned settings menu are included.
  • Early Access adds configurable chances, moodlets, Fallout socials, and aftermath choices.
Version 3.0 teaser (coming soon): Global Privacy Door Locking for non-cheating situations is in development.

Public Features

The core affair-locking and discovery loop is included in the public build.

Smart auto-locking

When a WickedWhims scene starts and one participant has a committed partner on the lot, WADL checks whether the room is private. If the encounter qualifies, the Public version locks the room for that session and clears the temporary lock when it ends.

Notifications and door hearts

When the door locks, a short notification identifies the cheater, the Sim in the room, and the committed partner outside.

With City Living installed, an active WADL lock can also display floating hearts on the door. The effect can be disabled in Visuals.

WADL eavesdropping

Automatic eavesdropping

If the betrayed Sim is nearby on the same floor, WADL sends them to the nearest reachable side of the locked door. Flipped doors are supported.

What they hear creates suspicion, not proof. It can range from vague to strong suspicion without confirming what is happening inside.

Enter releases WADL's lock and lets WickedWhims handle the normal reaction. Ignore sends them away without confirming the affair.

Make Every Secret Harder to Keep

Tune how often the door locks and whether they can get in, add manual investigation actions, and let suspicion turn into moodlets, Fallout socials, relationship changes, and aftermath choices.

Get Early Access

Everything from the Public build is included.

The door may not save them EARLY ACCESS

Eligible doors lock 75% of the time by default, so some affairs remain exposed. Both the lock chance and unlock chance are configurable.

After eavesdropping, Try to Unlock replaces guaranteed entry. Its default success chance is 50%.

The door may not save them
More control over eavesdropping

More control over eavesdropping EARLY ACCESS

Adjust how close a Sim must be before automatic eavesdropping begins. Cross-floor detection is optional and off by default.

A valid locked affair door also gains manual Eavesdrop, Knock, and Try to Unlock actions.

Suspicion becomes a moodlet EARLY ACCESS

Walking away or failing to unlock does not prove cheating, but it leaves an eight-hour emotional reminder. Jealous Sims become Tense; receptive or non-jealous Sims become Flirty.

Successful entry confirms the discovery, and both affair actors can receive Caught in the Act. Reduced Moodlet Intensity is available for gentler effects.

Suspicion becomes a moodlet
The affair follows them out of the room

The affair follows them out of the room EARLY ACCESS

Suspicion and confirmed discovery unlock temporary, pair-specific Affair Fallout... socials after the scene.

Sims can question the locked door, accuse, act innocent, confess, confront, apologize, defend the affair, or respond positively when the discovery was welcome. Important choices can change Friendship or Romance for that exact pair.

Settings

Open WADL settings from a door or enter wadl.settings in the cheat console.

Adjust door-lock chance, Try to Unlock chance, automatic eavesdrop radius, cross-floor detection, confrontation aftermath, Reduced Moodlet Intensity, and heart door VFX.

What a great mod for story telling. Ive always wished turbo would add a listen in feature for doors like this.

Same, I wanted this feature for so long, hence decided to build it myself :D

good stuff! how does it work for non playable sims? Like if your sim goes on another lot and does it with someone else's partner will this work autonomously?

Yes works! Try it out :D

In case you are using the Patreon version, it also prompts the Unlock and Enter / Ignore Dialogue for the NPC (if they walk near the door)

Good work and this mod looks really cool ! Is the sims with the Cuckold or Polyamorous traits from WW are gonna react too ? Because if a couple are in an open relationship, I hope the mod will not affect them, or it's gonna be a bit strange 😅

Yea, the only thing different for them would be they won't get jealous and might decide to join the act (patreon version) if you enter the room and have joining autonomy enabled

Seems like Sims 4 doesn't fall back to English text in case of Traditional Chinese, weird :/

Attached a small add-on that fixes the blank text (English only, not a real CHT translation)

Hi, I love NTR and things like that, so this mod is great!

But I have an issue: whether the translation is installed or not, when my Sim goes to a door, it is indeed blocked—that part works fine.

BUT the problem is that the notification in the top right corner shows an empty bubble with no text. Could someone please help me?

I have re-uploaded a version I think should fix this issue. Can you re-download and try? Make sure to remove older mod files.

It works, thanks a lot! In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing what's next for this mod—it's very promising!

Hi @XtremSyn ,

Just an technical question ...

Are masculine/feminine agreements taken into account with {0.String} tags, just as they are with {0.SimFirstName} tags?

Do {M0.} and {F0.} tags also work with {0.String}? Or not?

Because this is to identify a man or a woman using “he” or “she” in relation to {0.String}, right?

Exemple : original text :

{0.String} paused by the locked door. They didn't go in — but they definitely heard something they shouldn't have.

Maybe it work with it

{0.String} paused by the locked door.{M0.He}{F0.She} didn't in but {M0.he}{F0.she} definitely heard something {M0.he}{F0.she} shouldn't have.

No ?

My mod doesn't have designated order (0,1) by gender at the moment, so might need to keep the language gender neutral as much as possible.
