Violence6884 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Hey there. I was wondering if there's a reliable, quick way to tell which mod has a FOMOD. To give an example of what I'm trying to address; Let's say I've installed X amount of mods- Some of them have a FOMOD offering fixes or patches for compatibility between them and other mods which I may not have installed at the time. If later I decide I want one of those mods, and have forgotten which of my installed mods have a FOMOD, it'd be a pain to just uninstall and install every single one, one I'd rather avoid. I hope that made sense. Tags was my first thought, but that's unreliable- Not all mod authors use them. I know I can also browse my files and look into each mod for a FOMOD folder or something like that, but at that point I might as well just uninstall and install again. So here we are, with this niche question ^_^
nmagod Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 the only reliable way is to look at each of your mods, and in the future separate your backups into two folders - [with fomod] and [without fomod]
Violence6884 Posted October 25, 2025 Author Posted October 25, 2025 Yeaaah I gave up and went through 1/3 of my mods manually, one by one. At least I narrowed it down a little, using a more in depth search than the default Windows function. Lesson learned... :'D
belegost Posted October 29, 2025 Posted October 29, 2025 (edited) If you double click a mod in Vortex it'll bring up a side panel with all the information about a given file. If you scroll down to "Installer" and there is anything in there, that means it is a FOMOD. If it's completely empty and the next thing you see is "Collection", it is not a FOMOD. The information in "Installer" section contains all the choices you made during installation, so you can review it, in case you want to install a variant with different options. Obviously, you need to use Vortex in the first place. I don't know if MO2 has such convenience option. Edited October 29, 2025 by belegost spelling
Just Don't Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 In MO2 you can either manually add a Note or use plugins to remember FOMOD choices and such. FOMOD Plus adds a FOMOD filters which would automate the process.
