Manual replacement only requires replacing the file with the same name under %APPDATA%\LocalLow\Cygames\Umamusume\dat\a\LocalLow\Cygames\umamusume\dat (please make sure to back up the file). For instance, if the MOD file name starts with 2A, you can see that there is a folder starting with 2A in the dat folder, and the file is inside it.

this sounds annoying lol

tried the tool thats linked here and that one has no idea where o place it and the one on Gamebanna but that one doesn't even like the setting file that it came with...

The reason the modloader isn't working is because the files are loose. The modloader expects the files to have already been placed into their respective subdirectories inside the mod folder.
I.e.,

It should be (example names):
|-modname\
|--2A\
|---2A3T358ZT4JB90F
|---2A....
|---...
|--BZ\
|---BZ35T2AN046JJG1
|---BZ...
|---...

But the daiwa mod is:

|-modname\
|--2A3T358ZT4JB90F
|--BZ35T2AN046JJG1
|--...

I quickly ran the mod through a script to sort the files. You can use it in the future in case mods are uploaded loosely again (if you plan on using that modloader again in the first place). Just drag the folder with the loose files onto the .exe and it'll sort them.


I didn't implement a feature to do that automatically in the modloader because it seems obsolete if there is a functional Japanese loader that is compatible with Global.
Edit: nevermind, apparently there's a second modloader in development for Global?

For modders, what's less work: throwing the loose files into one root folder or have them sorted into their respective sub-directories, as illustrated in my previous reply? I don't remember if repackaged unity files are loose or already sorted into folders. Depending on that I'd add a feature to handle mods with loose files or leave it like it is now.

The MOD MANAGER is not robust enough to use in tandem with modding yet. Its backup system is unreliable, occasionally losing track of core files. Instead of moving backups, it should be generating copies to prevent data loss due to collision when editing.

 

As it stands, if some but not all of the files in the original data pack match the files in a mod, the mod can be labeled as "Active" when it is not. and the manager cannot correctly parse the change. It can lead to certain complications.

 

You also have to switch a mod off before changing the files, or the mod enters an un-readable sub-state. Basically, there are some data errors to be managed.

The swimsuits are heavily shared among the Horses. Like, all of these (Except McQueen & Helios) share the same 2-3 texture sets (so 2-4 textures each, twice if you incl. Wet)

I haven't checked, but I believe the same applies to the Backup-Dancer costume, which would even be selectable in the game (and likewise they have the same mesh I guess)

Are you talking about the @kxxxd mod manager, my version, or the UMPD?

After looking through the Horses, it actually affects way less than I expected -- apparently the Dance Mode of UmaViewer makes everyone use the same texture for a given costume

You can remove the rope during the mod migration process — it's actually not included in the model itself, haha.
