My current character has about run her course and I am gearing up to start a new character. I've pretty much played my last game solo (like I usually do) because I haven't found many followers I enjoy having around. Serana has been the only one I actually liked, and I just finally encountered her this weekend. I know there are a lot of Follower mods out there, and was wondering which ones you guys might recommend?

 

I am looking for a Follower that is more than a set of stats. Unique dialogue, quests, and banter are all big pluses. Voice acting would be neat, but not necessary. I did try the Alicia mod and liked the framework of everything...I just didn't care for the character herself.

 

Right now I've found a mod that includes Viconia from the Baldur's Gate series. Since she is my #1 all-time favorite companion, she also is my #1 pick right now...but I'd still love to hear what you guys say. Thanks!

this is my favorite companion, she is called "HAEZL" she looks as if she had "very severe fight" behind.

it always makes me very sad with their strong violations in the face.

das ist mein lieblings begleiter , sie heißt "HAEZL", sie sieht aus als hätte sie schon "sehr schwere kämpfe" hinter sich .

sie macht mich immer sehr traurig mit ihren starken verletzungen im gesicht .

I recommend you get a follower mod of some kind, UFO or AFT...   But be careful, there are some mods that break with follower mods, at can cause you some grief if you don't pay attention... 

I've used AFT for a while, and it seems okay..  It lets you have a nice little group of 4 followers plus options of how they should be, (archer, fighter, caster)... etc.. what gear they're wearing...


There's one called "Kitiara"  but I can't for the life of me remember where I got her....  I have a .7z and .rar for her, but she's 72megs or more..  Fully voiced with innuendos and a nice set of armor.
 

Caele - "Brutal and sometimes beautiful daughter of the Cold North, Caele is a fully voiced, standalone companion with a quest and a real personality."

The voice for Nadina is the same one that is for Kitiara.  Still can't find where I got Kitiara..........

Nadina - "Nadina is a fiercely independent warrior from Hammerfel. She is an excellent fighter and natural killer, and because of this the Impiral army has sought to use her in battle."

You could install "Interesting NPCs"

 

There are a bunch of fully voiced followers in that. I found this one Skeleton follower, that was mad chatty.

If you don't mind standard voices then I recommend Jette or Mindi. I've always liked Anneke but her being married is a pain and it seems wrong to drag her away, Jette is her younger sister and a guard in Whiterun. She goes on patrol, helps with the dragon fight and hangs out in the Bannered Mare. Mindi looks fantastic and is generally just like a housecarl. Find them here:

To be honest I find myself using Jette more than any follower so far. I've tried almost all of them, including all the custom voiced ones and always seem to find something very annoying with them or they're way overpowered. I use AFT and haven't found it to be an issue with any follower yet.

follow dino's tip and get AFT, Joshua Graham(Erandur) is one of the best followers if you level and perk him right with AFT along with Lydia, Teldryn, Jenassa, Aranea, Cicero and Serana

 

here's my ol little tip for followers fix based on their AI behavior for AFT using CK(use AFT for AI behavior)

 

Erandur = Class Sorcerer, he can be a bitch to any enemy or dragon Spamming lightning or fire spells, also his restoration is up to 100, so pack him with stendarr's aura, regeneration, recover and Great healing so he can live up with his Burned Man myth, Combat AI Magic and Weapon

 

Lydia = Everything but she's more handy as a mixed Class Warrior, AI General or 2 Handed weapons(her behavior makes she love axes like true nord or Volendung)

 

Jenassa = Beans Mod fixes her but she's rather weak since she Doesn't have the Right perks for her Ranger class, also her lockpick level is up to 100, her AI its Always Ranger

 

Teldryn = He doesn't need changes since he's freaking flexible and a replacement for Aranea if you don't want a follower with Lightning Spells, his AI should be always Magic and Weapon

 

Aranea = Beans Mod too, she's a preety good conjurer with a good AI for Lighting spam but Betheda's lazy programing capped her level to 25, but you can easily fix this using CK, also since her blue robes always screws with her outfit managing, but you can fix this with AFT

 

Cicero = he doesn't need fixes he's good as it is

 

Serana = She is rather weak due to her need of always Sumonning dead people, also her spells aren't that good, use AFT to tweak that, give her a proper summoning spell, Frost, Ash or Storm thralls are the best ones for her, for destruction, well she's Laura Bailey and you know what kind of Manipulative Bitchy Proudmoore Mage charater from a now dead MMO game she dubbed before

I like 'Interesting NPCs' is not exactly a follower mod but it adds tons of random npc's with unique story and voice acting, and many of them can become your follower, and some of them includes quest. I like it cause it surprises you, instead of downloading 'follower X - find it in X place', you get to find this people and having your adventures with them ;o

 

I din't give a fuck about stats or classes, for me everything is the same xD but its good to use EFF because it allows to have many followers and change stats and all that stuff.

Hehe yep, that's the one. I had found him on a wood elf hunter playthrough.

I highly recommend both Interesting NPC's and Inigo.  Inigo is fully voiced and actually makes relevant comments.  I have actually laughed aloud at some of the things he says.  The mod author has further plans for Inigo too :D
