murcrow Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 I've been reading that TNG is supposedly more functional than SoS but I couldn't find it if it is able to add type variety like SoS can to the different races and sexes. Is there a way to do it with TNG? Is there specific advantages it has over SoS?
Just Don't Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Yes there is addon variety in TNG. You install the addon, you distribute it using whatever rules you want in its MCM. 43 minutes ago, murcrow said: Is there specific advantages it has over SoS? The DLL doesn't crash your game if you change the loadorder of your SOS addons. You don't need to hunt for an updated DLL if you're in a more recent version of the game (anything more recent than 2019).
hotrack Posted March 1, 2025 Posted March 1, 2025 (edited) TNG all the way. It made my life easier assigning male addons sizes for unique NPCs [which is saved in the ini so that a new game will retain the info], and adding genitals with specific skin textures to NPCs with their own skin textures [which I do through xEdit rather than the old SoS method of assigning it through MCM, Every New Game]. First we had FISS, then some mods started implementing their own save settings to local profile, MCM Helper, there's also MCM Recorder and I'm sure I'm missing a few. Mod authors need to implement them though. Do one thing, next time you start a new game take note of all the MCMs you need to tweak and search a "setting loader" for said mods. Those setting loaders are MCM Helper implementations of the different MCM and the next time you make any changes it will generate config files on your game/mod manager, as long as you keep those files somewhere and they load in game your settings will be saved. If you still have several MCM without setting loaders you might want to check MCM Recorder and try it. 1
NNS10 Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 Does the SL Framework's SOS adjustment keys work for TNG? Is it a drop-in replacement?

Radical I know but why not try reading the TNG description page and asking any questions there? Or if you want to go really out there, why not just try the damned mod yourself?
gamerpk2 Posted May 28, 2025 Posted May 28, 2025 i get the occasional " hole into the unknown dong " with some characters with both mods but SOS gives me the option in MCM to add any missing dong to a character while TNG does not . other than that they are pretty identical to me
Streamlne Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 I really want to add TNG to the current MOD list I am using but too many esp's rely on SOS esp's. I think I saw some empty esp's that someone uploaded but I cannot find them and I am unsure if creating empty mods will break something in those other mods
