Hi, thanks for doing this guide. I only just found it and started working my way through it. I noticed as I was grabbing some of the mods that there is an issue with the link for the Preteen Body Preset Pack - Simtographics. Clicking on the link takes you to the page, but clicking download then takes you to a page called Simfinds to download the package. But clicking download there leads to more clicking download and eventually back to the original link without downloading the actual file. Maybe they changed something since you last grabbed the file. Just thought you should know about it.

Is all of the custom content included in your files or do I need to download everything from your guides individually?

Thanks. I just checked the links. Looks like the page was changed as the download options are down to one (there were more). But the download itself still works here.

I just provide links to the mods as almost every modauther forbids to prepack and upload their mods on other sites. Besides I once uploaded files i had available here on my system as the mod pages were taken down. I was reminded that this is not allowed here due to copyright.

 

With the replacers you'll get the tray files for the Sims. The included mods do have sort of an open permission and are only included to prevent a possible issue with the Sim. This is for people that do not want to use the 'NSFW Addon'.

The replacers will get an update. I'll try to remove all expansion/pack related clothing items from them. The exception for this are Sims that were added by one. Looks like EA happily uses everything you have installed (incl. mods).

Guide

'Miko Watanabe' has been updated. The first version replaced 'Liberty Lee' of the BFF from EA, now she's separate.

 

Replacers

Get Famous / Del Sol Valley is uploaded.

 

The save file for the 'Extended Base Game' is done and uploaded.

 

This will be the last save file. From now on all other replacer will be separate posts as not everyone (incl. me) owns all the other packs. In the long run I intend to replace all Sims in all packs I have here.

The 'new' HQ textures are great. Clothing gets improved, the skin textures are better now and, depending on the skin tone, I have to use less overlays for the replacer. Best of all they still get updated. The file for 'Business & Hobbies' dropped a few days ago...

 

The drawback lies in the filesize and the number of files (although with this you can pick what you need). Also the loading time gets a bit longer. I strongly recommend using a SSD for a game with these textures installed.

Addon - Advanced Textures

Added the addon for HQ textures. I split the texture packs into three groups so everyone (even those with an older system) will have some improvements in their game.

So, I noticed you didn't have anything like Eve or Sopor in your list, would any of the included textures clash with them? Also. what cc are you using for your two sims that you have on page 1?

Eve and Sopor are not needed as the meshes we got already work fine. Same goes for textures. The only thing I added are the meshes from 'Allure' to get better breasts for slimmer Sims. Feel free to add other bodies, but be aware that this could lead to deformations or texture clashes.

I've not played Sims 4 before and just got it.  Is the base game all that's needed or are there add-ons required?

You only need the base game. But some things, that should have been in the game, are sold separately.

 

If you've never played it before I recommend to test it first to see if you like it at all. Then you can decide if you want to spend money on it (but always wait for sales).

Small info:

The replacers for the EA Sims in 'Expansion packs' are almost finished. There are only two packs left, after that I'll go for the 'Game Packs', and so far i created replacers for 150 Sims. All in all I guess we end up with 200-250 replacers in total.

Just get the free LibreOffice to use the files.

Hair to 1.3

Added new hair for the replacer files.

 

Regarding the replacer I found better alphas for almost all hairstyles. For a few Sims (mostly elders) I either had to keep the vanilla hair or switch to a different one.

For more realism on Sims characters, this vein mod is pretty good, "BTTB 6 Body Vein Collection 1 MK I." It's designed for men, but with S4S, you can add it for women, which I did and didn't encounter any issues in the game.

But I'll take a break for now. Working on all the replacers is exhausting. Especially when you try to stay close to the original and not use too many mods or expansions. On one hand EA sort of discourages the use of mods but on the other hand the game happily uses everything it finds...

Surtout quand on essaie de rester proche de l'original et de ne pas utiliser trop de mods ou d'extensions. D'un côté, EA décourage l'utilisation de mods, mais de l'autre, le jeu utilise allègrement tout ce qu'il trouve…

It's certain that at some point, a break is necessary.
I too take a break from my Sims and comics, a break to always be on the lookout for the mod that improves the game, especially when my game is stable without any untimely LE due to the mod or the game still being bugged by EA. But sometimes when a good mod that doesn't bug the game is found, I try to keep it, but when the game is stable, I try to keep it as long as possible (until the new update (lol)).
Thanks for what you do, it's super useful to find links to reliable mods, but since things change quickly, some don't stay reliable for long, it's a perpetual cycle.
It's true that EA isn't for mods, but we have to do it to fix bugs and improve the game. EA should have been doing this for 10 years instead of giving us DLC or other things. They should have improved the game by fixing bugs first. Selling us DLC or other things that still bring back bugs like rain and snow in houses that haven't been fixed since January.
We spend more time making the game stable than actually playing (at least that's my point of view).
