Since this 'debate' has been burning for several years I often wonder if 'something' happened among the console kids growing up which had 'shaped' their view en masse or if this really is non generational? The increase of LGBT awareness in the mainstream intersecting with men's ever present struggle with what masculinity is, is my guess. Well at least that's part of the issue. Quote What happens to them when Tomb Raider/Horizon/Mirror's Edge/A Plague Tale/Dead or Alive is played. "If you have no choice - it's okay?" Dead or Alive - I've seen so much 'fan art' yet what about in game - do they avoid the female fighters and prefer to play men beating up girls? The whole concept seems to fall apart as more contemplation is engaged. They're seen as less hardcore and therefore less manly games. You also get the weird equivocating of feminine things or women in general with being "gay". 1

What did you do, install a mod that makes all female NPCs male? I also sometimes have my character be male and sometimes female. I don't have very many sex mods installed, though. So the sexualization of the game for me mostly involves putting my female companions in skimpy clothing, because playing in first person most of the time means I'm not going to see my character's avatar very much so it matters little whether it's a bouncy hottie in a bikini or Miss. VooMiiJ Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Totally agree that Skyrim’s modding scene just feels alive in a way Fallout 4’s never quite reached. Skyrim has had years of passionate creators building frameworks, armor packs, quests, and even adult animation systems that keep it fresh, whereas Fallout 4’s momentum didn’t seem to stick the landing — not because modders “gave up,” but maybe because the tools, game engine limitations, and community focus pulled in different directions. It doesn’t help that things like crafting systems and settlement bugs in FO4 weren’t as mod-friendly as Skyrim’s Creation Kit. Anyway, even random corners of the internet like https://sex.kyzdar-almaty.com/ show that people are still thinking about custom content — just maybe not enough talented people have rallied around big FO4 projects. If you want to reignite passion for Fallout 4 modding, I think it comes down to community coordination: • More modding tutorials and beginner-friendly documentation to bring new creators in • Shared, open-source mod frameworks so projects don’t get duplicated or die in isolation • Holding themed modding contests or challenges to spark creativity For Starfield and TES VI? I’m optimistic: Starfield’s Creation Engine 2 tools seem to be more modern, and if Bethesda supports modding early and openly, we could see huge things from that community too. TES VI will likely benefit from years of lessons learned, both from Skyrim and FO4 modders.
KoolHndLuke Posted January 28 Posted January 28 (edited) Didn't like FO4 the first time I played it because I saw it was a half-assed effort. But I liked the character creation and settlement workshop. So I stuck with it through the years and surprisingly there has been a decent amount of content released for it including F:London. Skyrim modding (actually both the base game and the mods) was a shooting star. An happy anomaly that will never, ever be replicated because that time/world is (sadly) gone. BTW.. if CDPR had made CP2077 with a third person perspective and stronger mod support from the beginning, no one would still be talking about Bethesda anything. Edited January 28 by KoolHndLuke
