I recently installed this mod (5.12) as well as all the hard requirements and dependencies. No warnings or errors displayed. In the MCM where the requirements are listed, all display as
Yes or yes + some version id (screenshot included).

The mod does add restraints, but it quite obviously does not work as intended (yet?). I have no issues with equipping restraints from other mods, it's only this mod that is causing me problems. One conclusion I have drawn from testing - I have restarted on a new game multiple times to see if I could get it to work 'as intended', so far without success - is that the Lewd Marks curses from DC, for example the Bondage Mark, seem to interfere with events from this mod, probably because of some quest thing. During testing, having a Bondage Mark for example did not stop a Harsh Bondage event from triggering, but it completely blocked device equips during that event, even though the mod seemed to think devices had been equipped through text updates. That's confusing, but definitely not a big deal.

A much more serious problem is that for example that harsh bondage event seems to consistently refuse to actually equip the devices included in the bondage outfit linked to the event, even when just going with a completely default setup where no changes were made to any of the settings linked to the event. Actually that's not true, in order to get the actual harsh bondage outfit to be equipped for a harsh bondage outcome, during testing it appeared that I had to change the default settings, because triggering a harsh bondage event instead seemed to call a competing (?) outfit instead, the All Events Outfit, which only applied a single, unrelated device -> disabling that event seemed to make it possible to get the mod to reference the right outfit 'group', though not all the relevant devices included. The gag punishment event is similar, it'll trigger and add a device, but it definitely will not add all the devices included in the outfit linked to the event. (The outfits are enabled, yes).

All devices included in the Bondage Outfit gets added perfectly when for example using the Settings -> Outfit Builder -> Load and Equip Outfit functionality through the binding action button (which will also sometimes grey out for me, something that others have also mentioned earlier in these threads, from what I recall -> but again, that's not a big issue). So I know the outfit 'exists' and that at least some parts of the mod understand that these devices should be applied. I can check in that menu that the outfit is Used For that specific event I want to link it to - it all looks right. But although I can consistently add the devices through the settings/outfit builder, when I then try to actually test an event which is supposed to link to that outfit, or trigger it through conversations with the dominant, then it does not work and it usually applies only one device, which will consistently be the first one included in the list of items. This problem does not only apply to the harsh bondage event, but also to other events. It applies regardless of the bondage level.

So something is obviously not quite right with the setup - but I don't really know where to look for a solution, because at least to me it looks like all the requirements are there. Is this a known problem with a known solution?

Also, I really like the idea behind this mod and appreciate the work that has been done, this almost goes without saying - I've tried hard to get this to work exactly because it seems like such a nice mod, that I would really like to get to work as intended.

That is a very odd behaviour, apparently something is acting up. It might help us pinpointing your problem if you could post a papyrus log that includes the time when something fails (like the harsh bondage event failing to equip the devices).
It's pretty obvious something is messing with Bindings functions, that has nothing to do with missing requirements, that has to do with another mods doing things it shouldn't. Perhaps also include your full Load Order.

If you believe it's not a requirements problem, that's already helpful. I sort of assumed it might be one of the requirements not working as intended (perhaps because it was an old version - I did not install new versions of any of the stuff I could see was already installed), which might be linked to stuff like loop behavior in a mod like this, which could then perhaps cause a loop to fail to be executed successfully (only first element in list of devices gets processed, not the other elements following it - something like that). Full load order would include a lot of stuff, including stuff I cannot possibly imagine being relevant, but I was already thinking of shrinking that down and then seeing if I could get it to work on a more simplified setup.

I have never shared a papyrus log before, how would I generate such a log and do that? Can you share a link or ..?

I can't rule a dependency problem 100%, but it working sometimes and not working other, that decidedly sounds like something else. If it were a requirement the problem would be constant, not on-off. That and the screen shoot suggests all is fine with the requirements.
As for the papyrus log, Nymra made a pretty good guide for that, you can find it here:
